Isn't it other clubs fault too?

They know PSG, City etc. have lots of money so they raise their fees.

Oil clubs or not, I'm sure PSG would have liked to buy DL for 30M, and Marquinhos for 15M if it was possible. In those cases, it's not PSG that fixed the fee.

Also, don't forget that some historic clubs like Real Madrid do the same when they buy players 100M not to be the star of the team, but just to assist Ronaldo. Next in line, suarez.

Football Business was kind of rotten even before the oïl clubs. But it's so easy to use them as scapegoat.

When historic clubs like RM splashed cash it was usually for top quality proven players not the 20m+ for unproven youngsters like Marquihnos, Lucas, and etc. Top players will always be expensive but people blame the oil clubs for raising the value for even lower quality or unproven players on the market.

Mehdi Benatia's weak foot alone is worth €30 million, acc
ording to Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini, who values the centre-back at a total of €61m.
"Benatia is a guy with sound principles: he doesn't want to take a step away from the Roma fans or his team-mates," he told a press conference.

"Personally I think €30m is the value of Benatia's weak foot.

"If Benatia's weak foot is worth €30m then the total price would be €61m."

When pressed on the prospect of Benatia leaving the club, Sabatini claimed that only a huge offer would convince Roma to sell.

“Benatia is not for sale, unless someone comes to us with an offer of €61m,” he added. "With that we could improve the squad."

Yep. Goodbye Mehdi.

And they got him for 13m, iirc. That's good scouting... Something lacking for us.
