Memphis Depay

He's a United reject and although he may play well, there is 0 chance of him being a superstar. Superstars are born, not made.

Salah and De Bruyne were Chelsea rejects too. Of course he's not gonna be Neymar level, but him not making it somewhere many years ago is not that relevant.

Di Maria was worse than him at United.

Barçapocalypse NOW!
I don't care if he is a superstar or not... If we can get a functioning team within a well defined system then he will be important and key player for our attack...

And as some have said, we don't have any other choice, so I trust Memphisito until proven wrong.

It's 8pm in Spain and he's still not registered. The time is running out for him to be registered today... Lol

You make a fuss out of nothing. How do you know LaLiga updates its webpage regularly? That backup striker could've been registered days ago, yet made public by the club today in the package with the rest.

Bad comparison. Salah and KDB got barely 10 games at Chelsea to show if they had it or not...because the manager loved his veterans.

Depay got 50 games for United and showed he is bang average for a team with top ambitions.

Di Maria then. Didn't adapt. It happens.

Playing less games would make them more of a flop surely?

No one expects all that much from Depay other than to improve LW/CF area of team and he can be exciting to watch as quite unpredictable.. which of course has its down sides also.

Will be the usual and folk mocking Depay 'the superstar' when plays poorly when no one has claimed that.

Di Maria was a proven world class player at RM who was decisive in CL final and with Argentina in the WC.

The bad year at United was the exception to the norm...as we've seen with PSG right after.

We're talking about players who've never shown they have the star/superstar stuff before.

That's 3 bad examples in a row. Still wanna cling to the Depay train?

Well no he wasn't, he was registered today, as the website says. If they have Depay and Garcia wrapped up they didn't register them at the same time as him? The club's announcement was clear that they had all been registered today yet only one shows up today.

That webpage is being updated with different signings every hour.

Depay played well at any other team except for United. So until further notice he only failed there.

This will be the chance of his career to prove himself. What happened at United years ago doesn't matter much.

At Lyon and PSV

Are you not reading what I'm saying? He's yet to show he's the man to lead a team with ambitions of big titles (like the league). No one expects anything in CL.

Who is claiming Depay will be 'the man to lead Barca to titles'?

Difference between that and being a 'flop'.

If Messi cant lead this team to titles in past couple seasons then bit of a high bar for a free signing from France.

Of course. He is not a proven top class player just somebody who can make that step in the near future.

The approach from now on will be contrary to the idea that one has to carry the team anyway.
