Agreed on the plan B striker, although I think both those guys are done.
I would only get Depay next summer for free and if we can get rid of Griezmann. I wouldn't pay a dime for him and I certainly wouldn't get another player with the same damn profile as the players we already have. It's just insane at this point doing this kind of transfers over and over again.

True, but he was mainly tasked to hold the ball up and link up with his teammates.
We don't have anyone in our squad who can provide something like that and it is good to have someone like him as a plan B imo.
I agree that those two are done. I meant more like wanting someone with a similar skillset to those two.

Again, transfer fee was not a problem, what prevented us from signing him was salary cap limit.

Depay, a pseudo winger/striker that works better being the second striker in a team(Dembele was the CF for Lyon
) We have Messi, Griezmann for that. We have Fati who is a cross between a striker and winger, Braithwaite the same. Coutinho has some of those qualities as well. Won't Depay's qualities overlap with the player's that we already have?
We need a CF period and not someone like Depay. We need pure wingers with speed or with great dribbling ability. Depay is none of that.

Depay is not a triple A player, but he actually has qualities in the penalty box in contrast to Griezmann or Messi. Even Fati whos probably closest in profile lacks strength. I would rather have a pure, quality #9 (like Haaland or Lautaro), but those are expensive and hard to get (and I dont think Depay would be an obstacle to go for them). Scrap a "plan B" striker like Giroud as well - they are worse and just as expensive.
If anything derails our season its the lack of a player with #9 qualities. We have none (!), Depay is another compromise, but at least he offers that on a decent (just below worldclass) level.

He's bit more robust so maybe a little more qualified to play inside the box but he's nothing to write home about on that front, certainly not worth paying 25m for him to play a position where he'll most likely fail.
I wouldn't go for him because we have other positions to strengthen more or other profiles to fill up the first team with. We need CBs, we need fullbacks, we need a CF more than whatever Depay is going to offer us. I'm arguing all of these things keeping in mind that we are struggling financially and every transfer fee/wage counts. If we'd have the money or wage structure to accommodate every of the above + Depay I'd have no problem with him coming.
Anyway, until we sort out our other needs, Depay is surplus to requirements imo.
