What baffles me more than the fact they are negotiating is that he is willing to take a massive cut and apparently will get paid much less than what Barto offered. Garcia, on the other hand, is unhappy with the lower offer they've made for him.
Negotiating with Barto was probably like this:
Barto: What do you want to get paid?
Player: XY?.
Barto *writes XY? into the contract*
No wonder Barca is by far the highest paying club.


Depay is hardly the fans' first choice, but I'd rather take someone with his mentality than someone like Garcia who literally has nothing achieved in senior football. And although I really like Martin as personality, Depay > Braithwaite as a footballer.

Here are a few reasons not to sign him. He needs to make the attack happen. Like Griezmann he isnt a real 9. Lacks speed for a winger and therefore doesnt help our attack.
We already got Messi dropping and setting up attacks then we have him and Griezmann doing the same thing and imagine the agony vs busses.
Add in that he has a Zlatan/CR7 type attitude without the quality to back that up.
So why sign him?

Its just Koeman wanting it cause he's Dutch.
Will be a mistake and shouldnt happen.
Same with injury prone Aguero to keep Messi happy.
