Would be great. Great if he chooses another club - and if he does it's also a small sign that he wasn't the right player in the first place.

Can find the money quick enough when it is a 33 yr old who had injury hit season as it might help Messi stay.
Lack of funds is not an excuse if make that signing then cant make others.
If Depay and his team have any sense they will play on the fact Wijnaldum went to PSG and ask for more money or a low release clause of 15/20m. That is if he even wants Barca. Could well be better for him to take the money and head to Juve.
Eric too. Everyone's contract expires June 30th while Messi 24th, so theoretically salary cap issues is not an excuse.
As Khaled mentioned with the Wijn thread, perhaps it is also Depay himself holding out for a bigger offer. But I think, and in especially this case, it is because the board is not 100% behind the signing and dragging it out.

Juve is in similar situation. It's surprising that they offered him way more than we did.
They have an advantage over taxes and i cant imagine their wage bill is half as big as ours.

They can offer him the same and at the end of the day he'll earn much more due to the tax law in Italy.
