Sevilla are like the RM of Europa lol

Arsenal are perennial underachievers in Europe. All they’ve accomplished is getting smashed around by Barca and Bayern 😂

Problem is in at least half of those they ended up 3rd in group stages and them being in EL was a downgrade. They should have gone farther in CL as 4th best Spanish team.

For me, it comes down to Spanish teams lacking a 4th team that can compete financially. It's a non issue regarding the history of Spanish clubs. They are full of history and have amazing atmospheres and club culture.

The only reason Arsenal is above likes of Sevilla or Valencia is money. If you look at what likes of Sevilla did on lower budgets... imagine them having money to sign top players. Beautiful cities too.

I also think a longer timeframe is needed. Which is why I'm hesitant to downgrade clubs like Milan or Juventus just because they are going through a rougher time in the last 1-2 decades.

But the trend for likes of Sevilla, Bilbao, Valencia, Villareal is not going to change soon. They would need a massive improvement of management, investors, and a managerial figure like Cholo to create a big momentum and use it to grow the club's stature. Immensely hard to envision that happening.

Milan especially is a Tier 1 club.

7 CLs, 11 finals, some of the greatest teams and collection of players in football history.

It will be another 20-25 years of mediocrity for them before they go from Tier 1 to a Tier 2 club (Ajax and Benfica did the same in the past)

EV could be that figure for Bilbao, but I don't see the rest falling into place for him to turn Bilbao into a big thing. They are very much a passionate local club that will not keep the momentum long.

Juventus is like that also. Many of those great Milan sides were losing Serie A titles to Juventus when Serie A was the biggest league of all. There's an argument that Italy has the strongest trio of them all with Juve, Milan, and Inter. Does any other league has 3 in top 10? Doubt it.

It would take about 60 years of milan and juve being poor before they get downgraded, well maybe 30-40.

Liverpool went about 25 years without a league title and were still considered a big club and rightfully so.

Arsenal, well the less said about that the better.

Milan won the league a few years ago.

Juve won in recent memory.

The heritage is too massive with those clubs.

I don’t view Juve as highly as Milan but yes they’re a Tier 1 historic club too

Bilbao will never be that club, for obvious reasons.

I have a selfish dream of them adjusting there policy to allow 3 players outside the basque region to join the team.

Won't happen though.
