Not many other options to be fair. Neymar coming off a knock and Iniesta dinged up forcing Rafinha to midfield.
We have Xavi who can play in midfield and Rafa could play up front with Messi and Pedro.

vs Villarreal at El Madrigal is not an ideal game for Xavi to start his season debut, just IMHO. Rafinha's energy and quickness could be valuable today in midfield. Just IMO.
His "Season debut" made me laugh a little. Guy is by far our most experienced player and there is a game where we have to worry about him making his debut?
Rafinha's energy makes the team more attack minded. Playing Xavi would allow us to control the match more easily. Playing Rafa is definitely going to make the game more interesting, though.
This is probably the most important game of Munir's career so far. If he impresses here, against one of the tougher teams in Spain, it'd be difficult to justify ever sending him back to the B team. If he plays well or even scores a goal he'd officially be a reliable first team player in my eyes, and his development would be best spent with the first team from here on.
The problem is, when Suarez returns his playing opportunities would be severely limited. I doubt watching the games from bench would help his development.

Villareal had him marked very heavily and keep in mind it was his first time facing a bus and that too of the defensive organization + horrible pitch at the El Madrigal of all places. Considering these things he had a good game plus his workrate his top notch for a strikerDespite his less than stellar performance against Villareal Enrique is still very happy with Munir and there are reports that he wants to keep Munir with the first team on a permanent basis, using him as our 4th choice forward after Suarez returns.
Happy birthday indeed, Munir...
