You could've gone through the list yourself as I suggested, and probably half of those players I listed never became near the level of Amor, Puyol, Pedro, Valdes or Pep.

Agree to disagree regarding Palencia. For me he is the one who has lifted his level the most of any La Masia player at Barça B for the past 5 years at least.

Pep and Valdes are not comparible and played a number of games for first team in La Liga before age of 21.

Puyol and Pedro did not play until later but neither were really La Masia products and think both changed position before being given chances in first team.

It is virtually irrelevant anyway as the vast, vast majority of 21 year olds who have never played for first team and came through La Masia will have fallen away.

Should have maybe been clearer and said players almost exclusively with B team at 21. Was not meaning those who are rotating between two.

Palencia very much should have been rotated between first and B teams though, he was arguably our B squad's best player in a position that had no players in that position with the first team. Lucho is the only first team manager to overlook him and considering Lucho let Grimaldo of all people leave while still starting Mathieu and Adriano as LB it's pretty easy to say his judgement probably wasn't the best.

If Barca B gets promoted Palencia can definitely rotate between first team and B team. If they don't i don't see any B players getting minutes.

Don't agree that he should have been rotated between two teams if not seen as good enough.

Grimaldo is irrelevant to that as he played well at a higher level at Barca and intl, left at a younger age and seemingly attitude was the problem with him getting called up.

Says Benfica already signed a replacement for Semedo, who's one of our options. His replacement is Alex Pinto of Vitória Guimarães.

Josep Capdevila says Semedo is our Plan B as we already inquired for him since getting Bellerin is Difficult.

Imagine having to settle for a better player because you're first option isn't coming.

Imagine? That's exactly how it felt in 2003.

We may have an agreement with Manchester United, but it looks like Beckham is signing with Real Madrid...so we'll have to settle for Ronaldinho instead. Sorry guys.

Hah, I never thought of that. I hadn't become a fan until 2005, because I was introduced to football by Ronaldinho when he played for Barca.

Any update on Semedo? Haven't heard or read anything on him for a while now. Still gotta feeling Bellerin will be the new RB.
