Nelson Semedo

 Leave it to JamDav to argue that a Southampton player who barely escaped relegation with his team is better than a FC Barcelona rightback who is a double winner.

Yes he has been better.

Gomes is a double winner as well and likes of Oriol Romeu been better than him also.

Leave it you to think full backs are all about pace and that yet another manager is wrong about the great Semedo.

Managers make poor decisions all the time. Not taking Nelson Semedo at the World Cup is a major fuck up.

No it isnt he has been poor at Barca and not looked good at either end.

Managers who win things also make a lot of correct decisions.

Excuse after excuse for Semedo.

Excuse for what? For not being called? That is a managerial decision that might very well blow in Santos' face later on. I see many comments on Abola of outrage due to Semedo and Ruben Neves not being called.

Truth is Portugal has so many fullbacks at Bayern Munich, Madrid, City and PSG, that taking on the fullback from Barcelona was overkill.

How will it 'blow in his face'?

On some assumption based on next to nothing that Semedo would have been better if they dont play well..

Can say same about dropping Gomes then if that is the logic.

It's a fair assumption to think Barca's RB would do better than Southampton's RB, as pretty much every Barca player (at least the ones who play regularly) is of better quality than the guys playing for 17th place team in England.

No it isnt and he is the Barca back up RB to Sergi Roberto who could barely attack and looked average at best defensively.

Again that logic can apply to 'Barca CM' Gomes being left out.

Awful argument to assume players should get picked just because play for Barca. Even if dont look Barca quality.

If not calling up Semedo increases CR150's chances to crash out of the WC tournament ASAP, then I'm all up for it.

Nope. Clueless is claiming the likes of Gomes and Semedo should be in squad purely because they play for Barca.

Clueless is claiming pace is the main thing for a full back and that Semedo has been good for Barca.

How blind you have to be to think that pace is the only thing Semedo has
