Semedo is 1.77m and Costa is 1.88m. It's a mismatch.
Thats what i was trying to say.
I like semedo defensively but he shows very little going forward every time he plays. When he plays we really only look dangerous on albas side. If he got his attacking game going we would create a few more chances a game. He will obviously have a good run in the side now so let's see what he can do offensively

Hernandez is 193cm, he will be marked by Pique 194cm.
Costa 188cm (6'2) can be marked at corners either by Busi (lol), or by Umtiti/Suarez who are 182 (6 cms shorter) or 5'11 and 1/2.
Savic also 188cm (6'2) will be marked by Umtiti/Suarez 182cm/5'11 and 1/2.
And Saul, L. Hernandez and Luiz, all in the range 182-183cm (6'0) will be marked by Semedo, Roberto and Vidal, who are around 178cm and 5'10.
Now, are you guys THAT surprised that RM was able to win CLs with numerous goals after corners and crosses in tight 50:50 matches:

Now, what have we learned in the last couple of years in CL's quarters, semis and finals?
= that a lot of matches are ending 0:0, it is hard to score through an open play and winners are decided after:
1. free kicks
2. penalty kicks
3. headers after corners
4. headers after crosses
Majority of goals at World cup were scored that way in quarters and semis.
Majority of RM's goals in a CL are scored in that way, right?
Not too many Tiki-Taka goals after 30 passes against a parked bus are scored, right?
You guys can claim how much you want that physique is irrelevant.
In big 50:50 matches against strong defenses, a few inches of height after corners, set pieces and crosses are what is often bringing a 1:0 advantage.
Real can't be bullied after corners.

No.
But playing with too many Iniestas, Albas, Arthurs, Messis where majority of them are around 170cm, won't help in a CL.
If we will be able to score from an open play=fine.
If not (which happens in 90% of big CL knockout matches lately), we are screwed.

How high is CRO defense? As I remember last 10 ou of 11 goals CRO conceded was from game break.
