Agreed.
But that was mostly because he lost confidence because Valverde benched him after he had 2 or 3 "great" games.
So after the Dembele commotion, EV supporters are back to the Semedo thread. After a while, they hop over to the Dembele thread once he has a bad or average game. This is basically the recurring theme for the past few months.
I dont get why the need to turn against players time and time again only to be proven wrong. Reason why people believed in Semedo because he definitely showed alot of potential at the start of last season as a newcomer. Roberto has been here ever since Lucho and his defensive flaws has been too prominent to be a RB, especially his simple one on ones let alone a 2v1 situation. Just one too many times. Semedo definitely had a great run of games when Roberto was injured, not to say with Semedo there will be no goals, but he would quell one-on-one dangers much better. Obviously, Pique would have to do much better, but he is another one overplayed as well.
Could say the same for you when you supported Gomes or Paulinho but it's clearly obvious these guys dont have a very high talent ceiling, so I'm not trying to be offensive or anything. I think it's reasonable to support EV early last season, but the honeymoon period is clearly over, there's no reason to be given excuses over and over again with a squad like this. No excuse to be overplaying Roberto and Rakitc when you have Semedo and Vidal.
Many players regressed under Valverde either due to overplaying or simply poor development. This should be an known fact by now. Should people justify the benching of Malcom by saying because he played bad? No matter how talented the player is, they all need a certain level of investment and trust, supported by consistent and well balanced minutes.
Sad to say you're actually an admin here and would go as far as saying "we are playing good football in CL". There you have it the epitome of a "good football" against PSV. Arthur made our hell alot better within those few weeks when Messi is gone but clearly after that we are back to mediocrity. By no means should we conclude we are playing good football in CL, and there should be no excuse for La Liga as well.
I dont get the players fanclub vs fanclub immaturity. I would want to see Barca under a new direction, with development and vision before I judge players.
