While I'm trying to not get overhyped and it is true that there's been a lot of portuguese players who did well in the league but failed to carry that form into other leagues. I think with Semedo his skill set will transition well with us since we are a ball dominant team.

Defensively it's a unknown how he would cope here, He looked okayish with something to build on in Highlights. I guess we will have to wait and see.

Raki, Im happy finally someone sees my point of view. I agree with many things you said. Barça latest signings are lowing the standards that should be much higher. Now seems anyone can at a given moment be a Barça player.
I watch some matches of the portuguese league every week (Porto, Benfica and Scp) do you follow any club in Portugal?

People around here dont know how the PT press and league operate. It´s useless. Let them find forthemselves just like Gomes.

Danilo was a strange one. He played quite well against tough opposition in the CL like Alex Sandro, yet he flopped while Alex Sandro is doing great now. Could be a psychological thing too, or perhaps he's just a very bad fit for Madrid.

Semedo is a lot more skillful though, and hopefully got the resilience to make it here.

Semedo is more skillfull than Danilo? LOL. Danilo was a beast in Portugal for 3 seasons. Semedo had 1.5 seasons and he was a sub for several months in 15/16. No possible comparison.

Hes, he is. Just another hype bust player from the Mendes machine.

Not relevant at all.

You act as if the clubs who wanted these players just followed the press whiich isnt true.

They can still fuck up and not get it right when scouting but they are not buying these players on hype from Portugese press. Certainly Gomes wasnt.

It's cool we got him since couple of us from Croatia can call him "Medo" which translates to "teddy bear".

This gives 'the knives are out' a completely different meaning when/if he doesn't play well
