We Cules should all buy at least one jersey each season to make sure we are contributing to the financial well-being of our beloved club. :barca scarf:

We are currently third in the jersey sale standings over the last few years.

1. Real
2. Man Utd
3. Barcelona

As much as I despise Madrid and their many plastic fans, I have to admit that their simple white kit is a very nice one in my opinion.

This is from the futsal team, I think. Can't be impossible to get an ordinary football kit without the sponsors...

They look damn good. So much better without anything ISIS. Excuse me, Qatar.
Any chance to get these somewhere?

New 2014/2015 Home kit...

I'm curious about the new 2014/2015 home kit on sale. We'll be picking ours up from the Official store when we travel to Barcelona and greatly anticipate the opportunity as such. It helps add to the moment and level of authenticity, plus it's my favourite design of all time, of any team, ever lol

It's a long way yet however and there are a couple of things I'd like to know if anyone can help shed some light.

On the Nike website we can see the two types of home kit available; the stadium and match versions. The match version does "look" like it's created with a better material but is it?
- Is it breathable?
- More comfortable?
- Better quality?

The seam between the red and blue also looks a lot better on the match version as opposed to the stadium which looks a bit... naff in all honesty. When you zoom in you can see the detail a lot better and the seam on the stadium shirt looks quite cheap.

The neck line/collar looks a lot better too, with the Catalan stripes in the V looking of better quality as well as the FCB crest on the left looking a lot nicer.

Too which brings me onto this point, we can also see from the website, but I am unsure whether it's just lighting however it appears as if the match shirt holds a true Blaugrana clarity & colour to it. The stadium shirt almost looks washed out and lighter.

Are there any major differences or differences in general and can you tell when the shirts are side by side?

How do they compare when wearing each of them?

I'm assuming the match version fits better too?

The only other question is, do people generally purchase and wear the match shirts on match days or would I look like a right idiot wearing one at the game if I did go ahead with the match shirt?

Thanks for any help you guys & girls are able to give, greatly appreciate it (sorry I know there's a lot of questions).

Get the stadium version only. Why pay extra for something silly. It's not a huge difference unless signed by some footballer. :p

Thanks for the reply, however money isn't an issue, not to sound big headed there but I rather pay for quality, something I'd enjoy/get use out of and never regret. The stadium version is actually quite expensive for a football shirt and more than I've ever paid. I believe it's something to be proud of too, not proud having "the better version", but actually wearing the colours with pride.

I appreciate everyone's opinions, preferences and choices but for me if that little bit extra money means better quality material, more comfortable and a more genuine, true product to the real deal then I'd go with the more expensive choice. I didn't notice the colours on the stadium version until the other day and if that turns out to be true, that the colours on the stadium shirt is actually lighter, that alone would probably sway my decision. Sorry, don't mean to sound egotistical or cause upset to anyone.

The "match version" is the so-called "authentic / player issue jersey" whereas the "stadium version" is usually referred to as the "replica jersey". I did a long post highlighting the general differences in this very thread, you can search for it.

Here are the key differences, in a nutshell:

- Authentic jerseys are slim-cut, about one size down compared to replica jerseys
- Authentic jerseys feature the laser-cut holes on the side panel, supposedly to ventilate sweat (a feature not seen on the replica jerseys). However no concrete, not even anecdotal evidence has been provided showing it is cooler than the replica jerseys in this regard
- The 14/15 authentic jerseys are made of the same fabric that you saw on the jerseys of the last several season, polyester made of recycled plastic bottles. The back panel of the jersey is made of mesh fabric which helps ventilate (a feature not seen on the replica jerseys)
- The 14/15 replica jerseys are made of a different fabric throughout the body of the jersey, different from the fabric they use for the authentic jerseys, more cotton-ish, to me it felt pretty comfortable
- The 14/15 authentic jerseys feature a higher-quality, bigger embroidered FCB crest whereas the replica jerseys feature a slightly smaller, average-quality embroidered FCB (the same crest we had on the training jersey)
- Color-wise I compared the two, no noticeable differences

That's about all I can think of right now. If you want the pro, on-the-field feel, get the authentic version, otherwise the replica version will suffice. Again, keep in mind that the size of the authentic jerseys is about one size smaller.

I personally ordered an authentic jersey.

Oh brilliant, thanks very much for your reply Luftstalag14.

I made a search for an existing thread with the exact thread name (attempted multiple searches with different tags) but nothing came up, so created a thread of my own. A moderator then merged my thread into a post here =)

I'll get digging into this thread, it's a big one lol but thanks for the insight on the shirt.

My wife has just come home too and has been talking to her colleague who has recently been to Barcelona. She said they went on the Camp Nou experience and when they came to the shop, in her opinion she said it was very expensive. I can't imagine the prices being more expensive in the store at the Camp Nou being more than those prices on Nike's website, surely not? Or does anyone know?

Thanks again.

**wow I have been educated after reading the entire thread. Phew. I'm 50/50 on which to get, I'll have to decide when I get them in front of me I think, or end up getting both.

The home kit is beautiful, simply the best kit ever of any team in existence of all time (in my opinion).

The away... hmmm I disliked it at first but it's growing on me.

The picture posted with the futsal team? Showing the new kit without sponsors... want! That is pure beauty.

If money is not a problem and you play football go for a match jersey. Replica is a bit heavy and sweating is more significant. I also own training dri-fit barca jersey and it feels much lighter on the skin then replica.
I don't buy barca jersey every season (just too expensive) , but when I do I go for match version only because I play football in it. Otherwise, I would go for replica.

Also every now and then Barca offers discounts throughout the season via their online shop. Not sure if they sell match versions that way too?
