New goalkeeper?

Dream signing would be Dibu Martinez, but not realistic.

With Liverpool buying Mamardashvili, Alisson Becker on a good fee would be my number 1 pick

Alvaro Valles on a low fee/free agent is a decent option too.

How is Illan Meslier doing?

We were linked to him in 2022 iirc, and Barca has history of going back to old targets.

As far as I know, he is massive (1.98m) and good with playing with his foot. But was very mistake prone.

His contract ends in 2026, so possibly attainable in January.

Since Masia saved us so far, why not try Astralaga or Kochen? Might as well, they can't be worse than Pena right?

The plan is to place confidence in Iñaki Peña, at least until January. Álvaro Valles, Stole Dimitrievski, and Guillaume Restes are being considered if the club in the end opt for a January signing, with the latter viewed as a long-term prospect. @sport

Restes is very highly rated, but I wasn't that impressed with him in the Olympics. He is a long term investment for sure.
Valles was great last year. Is a bit tall and won't take long to fit in. Convincing him to ditch Betis is the hard part but otherwise he is most attainable.
Dimitrievski, I think he is good for a loan tbh. I can't see Valancia selling him for low fee.

I'm sure Velles would prefer Barca if they promised him a real shot at being our #1 long term. The problem is that MATS will walk back into the starting lineup next summer regardless of his preformances. And Velles knows that...

Penna just needs to make the saves he should, plus 1 top save every now and then, and hope the attack bails him out.

He can't fuck up like last season, where every shot was a freaking goal.

Valles definitely has a pre-agreement with Betis. Legally it cannot be on paper though so it's not binding.
His options are:
1. He talks with Betis and explains Barca want him, and hope Betis can give their blessing
2. He just signs with Barca. Betis is his childhood club though so don't think he'll want to fuck em.
3. He goes to Betis as planned

You are assuming there is a signed document, and not just an oral agreement?
