Glasgow proper is a shithole for most part, city center horribly run down, town only good for drinking. Can sure find good suburbs around the area (and equally terrible ones), but folk from abroad who prefer nicer atmosphere would never opt to settle there. Edinburgh much much much better as a place to be.
For sure have to pay well to stay in a place like that. Area surrounding Ibrox is horrendous too.

No surprise they’d be treated as heroes when club not won a thing in 100 years or contended since Shearer and Ginola. Wears off for many I.e. James.

Leeds been buying rejects who were linked to top clubs but never gone there (Rodrigo, Diego Llorente) or bench players (Kiko). No problem though as most in La Liga would have them and can earn more in Leeds despite never qualifying to Europa. Can’t blame them.

Haha nah it isnt. Regularly comes up in top cities to live in lists etc. City centre is fine.

Edinburgh is decent. Not better though for things to do and places to go. Glasgow has better buzz about it. Edinburgh a bit like the shortbread tin version of Scotland tourists will like.

Glasgow/Newcastle not shit holes. Barely any of the big cities are not and players are happy enough to go there.

Leeds taking mid La Liga teams better players not rejects. Need to learn what that word means and it is not 'players the very top teams dont sign'. Taking Spanish internationals from La Liga mid to upper teams.

Of course most La Liga players would rather be in mid EPL teams.

Aye tourists coming in will prefer it cuz it’s much better to be and stay if could find a paying job. Glasgow pretty poor financially and aesthetically, up down, good for nightlife and activities + bit closer to Highlands which is a bonus. More like if you took Dundee and blew it up 10 times. Nothing that special, shithole for most part, doesn’t really compare to Manchesters, London, Birmingham etc Newcastle maybe a bit better. Foreign talent will be happy to go and cash a pay check for sure, often hard to convince them to stay if footie quite stagnant.

Not surprised Scot rates Glasgow

Nah as I said Glasgow regularly voted in lists as one of top cities in world.

Will take that over your opinion.

Far more to do in Glasgow than Manchester. More ignorance.

Dundee is nothing like Glasgow. More ignorance. Although Dundee has improved.

Talent will always follow money. Law of the land.

Poach them is exactly what RM and Barca have been doing for years. Now somebody else is poaching them you want to go to CAS.

Madrid and Barca don't have money printing presses behind them. These oil teams do. Kuwait is the only rich gulf state that hasn't bought a club.

As someone who lived a year in Aberdeen and visited both Cities, I think there is no contest between Edinburgh and Glasgow for tourists. Heck I would take Aberdeen over Glasgow if it weren't for the weather and being far from other tourism destinations.
I think for average Joe Glasgow seems to be more realistic and adequate place to live in, cheaper and a bit more crowded etc, rich folks surely prefer Edinburgh (like JK Rowling)

That said, does it really matter for footballers? They are less than 1 hour apart and folks play in either city can choose to live in the other one, sort like some Liverpool players who stayed in Manchester (Salah being one iirc)

Nah Glasgow is known for its architecture, culture, green spaces etc and has a buzz about it. Some shitty areas as in all cities but it is the better city to live in Scotland. An hour away from Loch Lomond and national park and for folk who like what Edinburgh offers not far from there either.

For Glasgow it feels like everything is amplified whether that is the things to do and good time can have to the violence and deprivation a few streets away but weatlhy folk and footballers will rarely ever have to see that side.

Wrong on wealth as well. The richest folk in Scotland tend to choose to live in Glasgow with more millionaires/billionaires than anywhere else.

Tourists will prefer the fake Scottish side to Edinburgh and castle etc no doubt but for city to live in it is no contest having lived in both and that is why regularly voted as top city to live in and much more to it than likes of Manchester.

As said all the top cities have improved over last couple decades and nowhere near the issue for majority of players as is made out. Old Firm players have stayed in Glasgow after retire and likes of Larsson probably stayed far too long for his career.

Guess so. Does Rowling live there? Was sure she just wrote the books while over there.
Indeed Edinburgh no contest.

Probably doesn?t matter for footballers but they don?t even live in Glasgow proper most time and never see most of the piss poor areas city has even around Ibrox. Then again they always live in gated communities so doesn’t matter.
Places like Dundee had to redo its waterfront to even marginally resemble a place with acceptable standard, has improved though even in last 3 years. Not much different to a lot of Glasgow. Until they started redoing some of the West End Harbour area it used to be Peaky Blinders central lol

What does this list have to do with your earlier claim?

Dundee and Glasgow are nothing remotely alike.

Glasgow is one of cities in UK with most green spaces/parks, is known for its culture, architecture and a always a lot going on.

If want to know what Scotland is really like and city with most going for it go to Glasgow. If want to go to where what folk think Scotland should be go to Edinburgh. Both decent.

Dundee was more or less a shit hole that has cleaned itself up a bit. Was still a decent night out to be fair.

Wolfie been to Ibrox once and thinks he knows the city.
