Neymar Jr. - v5

RMC wrote an article on tuesday, saying PSG weren't willing to pay the buyout clause as it was a high price. which leads me to believe they knew it would be difficult to pay the 220+ Million for him upfront so they are using loopholes but the way it sounds is it's basically playing with fire big time in that regard.

Good, let them do it. I want Nasser to take the blame and get fired.

I said mostly from big clubs, also of recent winners of BDR has been from Barcelona and Madrid.

I don't think PSG would be challenging for UCL anytime soon or at least for the next few years. Madrid, Bayern, Barca, and even Chelsea and City can knock PSG.

So Neymar at 25 years old will need at least 2 years (best case scenario) to win anything major like UCL with PSG for him to win the BDR. (Again best case scenario).

If he waits in Barcelona he could do the same. Messi is 30 years old and in few years he will be 32-33 years old so Neymar can effectively be the man and be in charge of the team in 2 years. His chances of winning the BDR would be much higher at a club like Barcelona. Doesn't make sense he is moving to club like PSG for a footballing reasons.

He wont be the main player at Barca in two years and staying at Barca is not a bad thing for him but can see why it is something to think about.

Disagree on PSG and CL. I think Neymar going there gives them a good chance of at least going close in next 4-5 years.

Winner has not always been from Barca or Madrid.

It has been most often Messi or Ronaldo as they have been so dominant and main player in team. Hard to win a balon dor in same side as Messi and even then not all about that it is about wanting to see what can achieve leading own team that will be the pull. In my opinion.

Last time Ballon d'or winner outside of Spain,Italy & England? 1996 Matthias Sammer and that was just one year after Bosman laws that changed football. Neymar was 4 back then
The time before it? Igor Belanov, 1986 before non-european players was eligible for the prize
And CL winner doesn't always win it, didn't help Ribery or Deco to win it when they were competing in a less competitive leagues.
If he wants to win it, PSG look like bad bet

A shame really, PSG is simply not Barcelona. Poor career decision IMHO

Personally for Neymar it would be a good carrier decision, because the French league is much weaker than the Spanish one, so he could easily become the Triumphed Star of the team and country, with much less effort and playing difficult and heavy games twice a week, perhaps without getting kicked every minute of each game.

Neymar is somewhat hated in Spain, disliked by the authorities, having been constantly under the bias of the referees and carrier-wise probably it is at least a "good try" to play in a different environment, where he might not necessarily be the constant victim of rough defenders are referees alike.

Neymar is a "party-man" loving to enjoy life and friends, of course he rather wants to be with 3-4 other Brazilians (including Alves who helped him a lot to accommodate in Barca) than being around Dennis or, Munir or the smile-less Gomes with his wooden face and wooden legs...
He knows that the useless players are still here, the Ardas and the Gomes types, and the management is sooo impotent, that if I were in Neymar's shoes, I'd also like to play somewhere else, where the management is capable of accomplishing the needed rapid changes. This management (most probably including the new coach) is just impotent and clumsy to do all that.

Messi was supposed to sign his contract by the US tour and I'm positive something is going on behind the walls, apart from Neymar's supposed departure...

The question I have. How are going to register Neymar to PSG if it's the 3rd party acquisition. Because on the paper Neymar will not belong to PSG. Anyways I have many doubts that PSG can swallow this. Most likely they want force Barca to negotiate through Neymar, but I don't think Barca will badge.

President of FC Barcelona
It is a done deal when PSG present him, not when he is training with Barca team. There have been many done deals that weren't done. The whole explanation of FFP loophole is so weak to say at least

Qatar has been under fire in both football -due to the hosting of the WC over USA- and political. If UEFA wanted that money they would have get rid of FFP.
This all seem like a bs to me, nothing but weak explanations to fit the narrative of a weak story, or a club is taking a huge risk that could backfire

Whatever happens, I hope it happens within the next three days.

Papin was the last winner from ligue 1 in 1991. He's not winning any individual awards there. He might get into a World 11 or two but whoever Madrid or Barcelona sign in the next 5 years will still place higher than him. The awards are about marketing even more now. Maybe if he ditches his father and signs up with Mendes.

Dont think any of that history is relevant.

To lead your own team and have a chance of CL and balon dor that you have bigger influence on is attractive thought.

Players like Neymar will back themselves to do that more than lot of people think possible.

Neymar is getting bad career advice form his Dad whose motive is driven by greed.
