Neymar Jr. - v5

Should be left out of the team today.
No point in letting him play and taking away minutes from players who will be staying at the club.

Why?
Is it a sin listening to offers in the middle of the transfer window and contemplating upon an offer being the highest in football history?
I bet there are quite a few players in the Barca team who would jump on offers like that, but in them nobody is interested or perhaps just for peanuts. I bet many of them are damn envy, but probably not more than CR7...

What Veratti did and does for his present team is much more controversial compared to Neymar boy, who didn't say a word so far (and rightly did so).
If Neymar decides to leave, it's understandable from a certain angle, which is $$$. If he stays, the nervous fans shouldn't deal with his problem anymore, but should rather celebrate the triumph of quality over the petro-dollars.

You're not even a Barca fan so naturally you don't give a toss about Barca being disrespected. It's all about Ney, innit.

I think we should pursue the Coutinho deal regardless of whether Neymar decides to leaves or stay.

Imagine..

Verratti + 100M for Neymar. And then we can buy Coutinho for another 100M.

So it would be.

Rakitic Busi Verratti

Messi Suarez Coutinho

Because we have a season to prepare for. One of which we will likely be going into with a big loss in our attack.

Neymar can go wherever he wants and earn as much money as he likes, none of that matters in terms of what is best for Barca. He's had opportunities to speak up and address the the club, but has chosen not to.

Barca should do what's best for Barca and let the players who are committed to this club have as much pre-season play as possible to be prepared for the upcoming season.

Mark my words; if Mbappe deal goes south for Madrid, they will come after Neymar and he will sign for them.

Why would they want to weaken their winning and well balanced team with Neyclown, lol?

Uncle Flo knows slighly more about football than Uncle Barto.

On the other hand, buying Neymar for selling shirts and for commercials (and make him sit on a bench all the time) would be a good financial move.
They would keep a winning team, and have a poster boy in their team.

Receiving € 220 million for Neymar and getting rid of his astronomical wages, hidden payments to him and his father and all the other shenanigans surrounding him sounds like a blessing to me.

He hasn't developed much since he first came here and he won't develop much because he doesn't have the hunger. He is more interested in partying and being a rockstar, not a serious football player.

In 2008/2009, Messi was 21. Since then he got better each and every year to the point where I always asked myself: "How much better will he get?"

38
47
53
73
60 (only that injury stopped him from topping even his 73 goal record)

That's Messi's goal tally every season from 08/09 -12/13 (when he was 25).

And Neymar?

15
39
31
20

He had 1 very good season and a couple of months of greatness in winter 2015 which he never maintained. Aren't we all secretly waiting for him to finally fulfil his potential when he is already 25?

Would be better if you didn't start arguments on that level once again. I know if I were a Barca fan and you need accept it, regardless your personal sympathy or rather antipathy.
Questioning what I am and what I am not, leads nowhere, so I may argue against your opinions but never question "what you are" (or you aren't).
If being a fan means losing the remaining part of someone's objectivity, then you know the regular and right answer as well.

On the pragmatic matter: contemplating upon a gorgeous offer is NOT disrespect in itself.
In this money driven professional sport it is normal, specially if someone is silent until the actual decision is made. Because it's simply fair-play.

Contemplating on an offer is not disrespectful, however, taking one's time (and a long time) to contemplate on an offer and potentially leaving your current club in a bad situation (having little time to find his replacements) at a such a critical juncture is disrespectful. And IF those rumors that the Neymars demanded the club to sign certain Brazilian players were true, abusing his status and using that as a leverage to hold the club hostage as a precondition for him to stay is highly disrespectful.

The club should give Neymar until the end of this week to figure out what he wants to do next. If he wants to leave, he can leave. This can not drag on any further. This club should not be used as a place to fall back to if the P$G deal were to go south, or if the UEFA were to penalize them. If he wants to leave he should leave.

The thing is that we can give him a deadline or something, but it's not up to us to decide. If PSG sort the FFP thing out, they can activate the release clause and get him on the last day of the transfer window.
