Neymar Jr. - v5

That's interesting. Can you tell us more, since you're apparently in his head?

Frankly, the only thing we know for sure right now is that he's contemplating the transfer - nothing else.

Just a hunch but I think he would have denied to rumors long ago if he wasn't actually going to PSG. Now there is only FFP on the way of the transfer and Neymar is not sure can the transfer happen or not which is why he won't comment on this matter.

Contemplating on an offer is not disrespectful, however, taking one's time (and a long time) to contemplate on an offer and potentially leaving your current club in a bad situation (having little time to find his replacements) at a such a critical juncture is disrespectful. And IF those rumors that the Neymars demanded the club to sign certain Brazilian players were true, abusing his status and using that as a leverage to hold the club hostage as a precondition for him to stay is highly disrespectful.

The club should give Neymar until the end of this week to figure out what he wants to do next. If he wants to leave, he can leave. This can not drag on any further. This club should not be used as a place to fall back to if the P$G deal were to go south, or if the UEFA were to penalize them. If he wants to leave he should leave.

Why is everyone saying this?

There is still lots of time to find replacements. If Neymar leaves (which I don't believe will happen) our club will be a lot richer, and will be able to throw serious money in order to get the players they want.

You are speaking complete and utter nonsense.
-If Neymar is really considering going to PSG he should come out and say something irregardless of PSG's "financial obstacles". Are you kidding me?
-The Brazilian players WERE considered before this saga came. We've been linked to three Brazilians (Lima, Paulinho, Coutinho), and each and every one centered around keeping Neymar happy. Go figure.
-He doesn't have to refuse to train or play because his release clause is being met. His refusal to address the situation while making constant passive taunting posts on social media while his fans panic IS disrespectful.
-I can't contemplate how you could think he's being professional about this. I get that you're only a fan of MSN and couldn't give a rat's behind about the club as a whole, but I'd expect you to at least think logically. If Neymar finally gets this transfer done so late in the window we'll be up a creek with finding his replacement. Although I guess that means you won't have as much a reason to keep trying to pretend to be a Barca fan with one of your main stans gone.

Try to refrain from these personal attacks please, because even if anyone here "pretends" to be a Barca fan, or not, it will NOT strengthen your personal logic regarding the matter.
Talk about Neymar or Barcelona or the impotant management, but when you start talking about ME and some misunderstood contents some of my year old posts, it merely shows the level of your own logical reasoning.

- Neymar has been professional - so far - because he did NOT say anything openly. He should and probably he will, when there anything to say, besides the "maybe" or "perhaps" words.
- He doesn't probably yet know what to do, so why should he make announcements about his own dilemma?
- Keeping silent until there's something definitive to say, is NOT disrespectful in itself.
- Sorry to say but you probably handle his silence as lack of respectfulness, because you - as a fan - feel being hurt by the idea that an "external force" may temp any of the beloved players to leave. Now this is the lack of professionalism, although an understandable angle from the spectator's point of view.
I'd been a player on the international level and experienced and hence know situations like this several times. Neymar is hesitant, Messi and the others pull him from one side of the rope, money and his father pulls the other end, so he doesn't really know what to do, to whom he should say no to and hurt that side forever.
So professionalism in this regard means giving NO bickering comments or statements. So far - SO FAR - he kept himself out of it, which is professional, regardless your personal emotions.

The problem is, the board probably can not force Neymar to leave either until FFP and UCL is no longer an issue.

This is the problem and the nightmare scenario for Barca.

Essentially our board have 1) put a clause on a player they thought could never be triggered and 2) assumed the player would never want to leave.

When both of these scenarios go wrong at the same time, Barca lose all power and are helpless.

Unfortunately right now Barca is at the mercy of Neymar.

Nothing said openly?

“The last one was my best season in Barcelona. I am very adapted to the city, the club and I am happy here. That is reflected on the performance of an athlete,” Neymar said in an interview with Goal last week.

“It was the season where I felt more comfortable, even though we did not win the titles we would have wanted.

“We played great games and lived incredible moments. Now, we need to work for the 2017-18 season so it will be even more positive individually and as a group.”

I agree with your points and wrote something similar few days ago.
However, it's time that the club pressures him to make a decision. He really had time enough to think about the situation and if he can't make the "right" decision today he won't be able to do it tomorrow. Yesterday's presser showed quite clear that this theatre affects the whole team in some way. Neymar is 25 and should act like it. He owes it to the club and the team that has made him the player he is today.

the board over estimated their clauses. All future clauses must be as high as possible. Ceballos clause for ALL important players. No more of this blackmail/ransom shit

Proof?

assume much?

Ever heard about goal dot com's reputation? Don't you find it odd they chose to respond to them with their reputation? Don't you also find it odd they chose to respond through mail with no records presented by goal and with them not willing to talk to anyone else but someone with the reputation of goal dot com?

Don't think I need to say more.

Terribly sorry but I cannot see anything related to Neymar's possible transfer here.
