Neymar Jr. - v5

Ever heard about goal dot com's reputation? Don't you find it odd they chose to respond to them with their reputation? Don't you also find it odd they chose to respond through mail with no records presented by goal and with them not willing to talk to anyone else but someone with the reputation of goal dot com?

Don't think I need to say more.

So no proof. So you thought.

thought so.

the board over estimated their clauses. All future clauses must be as high as possible. Ceballos clause for ALL important players. No more of this blackmail/ransom shit

I think the barrier to completely lose negotiation power (release clause) should be set astronomically high and then have a stipulation in the contract that if the player wants to talk/negotiate with other clubs then talks can begin around the value of X amount.

That way the clubs can prevent clubs like PSG from triggering clauses and have negotiating power at value X if the player himself wants to leave.

Not sure if this is possible but it's better than being held at the mercy of Neymar like we are now.

Either way, release clauses need to unreachable/eliminated in modern football.

I agree with your points and wrote something similar few days ago.
However, it's time that the club pressures him to make a decision. He really had time enough to think about the situation and if he can't make the "right" decision today he won't be able to do it tomorrow. Yesterday's presser showed quite clear that this theatre affects the whole team in some way. Neymar is 25 and should act like it. He owes it to the club and the team that has made him the player he is today.

I think the "theater or circus" is created by the press. Not by the player himself.
He owes a lot to the club, no doubt about it, but others equally do.
There's more than a month left till the window closes for transfers so the club will have enough time to act, regardless if he stays or leaves. It's even more important that the clubt shouldn't act too rapidly and in panic, because for them the outcome will probably be very good.
- If Neymar stays, it's good for the club and probably for the other players too.
- If he leaves it's even better because there will be an astronomical amount of money to be spent on replacements and enhancements, far far above the amount they planned or imagined.
No rush... there's plenty of time to straighten the future.

clubs can already CHOOSE to accept any bid lower than the release clause.

These guys are dumber than I thought

They thought it was a non-issue until PSG made it clear they have the capacity to pay it. Then they started freaking out.

Such idiots.

Good to see MD not letting the board slide, one of the best things of this transfer apart from the faggot leaving us is huge pressure on the board

Not defending the board, but even if they took it seriously three weeks ago they would still be helpless to stop it if Neymar was convinced and PSG were to pay the release clause.

But this is the best case scenario that MD of all people coming out and beginning the assault on the board.

Mate, Let me put things into perspective for you. We don't have much time here. This isn't Fifa manager. We need this saga to be resolved as quickly as possible for the benefit of the club and the new coach. The first competitive game of the season (Spanish SuperCup) is around the middle of August, presumably the 16th. That's what the official site says. That's 17 days away. This circus is causing a major distraction with the club and players. It's evident that PSG are negotiating with Neymar's camp. If it were not true, you would've expected Neymar to put all the allegations to rest already and not have someone like Pique forced to correct statements etc. At this juncture i would prefer that he leaves and we get the 220 million or 122 million and Veratti in exchange. And hopefully this happens as soon as possible. I hope it doesn't turn out that he's staying only because FFP couldn't work.
