La Liga refuse to accept Neymar's 222 million euro buyout clause

Tebas doing his dirty work to make things worse for us. He will do his best to delay everything until the last minute of the transfer window so we won't be able to get replacements for Neymar. Tebas and Real Madrid must be having the best times of their lives.

You're late to the party, the deal has already gone through.

A sham from the beginning and a sham to the end.

I've always liked Neymar the player and Neymar the person. He has tremendous heart and talent on the pitch and I love his approach to the game. As a person, he's always seemed fairly chill (outside of the Semedo fight) and I always felt like he hates the position he's in at times. So many people are using him for his name and talent, even down to his father and that's gotta be isolating for a person. That's why having a bro like :alveshat: is so crucial to a team's spirit.

And overall, this club did very little to help him to support him throughout his time here. First and foremost, we have a pretty proven track record of acrimonious splits with our Brazilian stars. Plus, the way we did Dani probably made Neymar fear we'd eventually do the same with him if he stayed. From the beginning, he was dealing with the legal baggage of his ridiculous transfer, then the tax bullshit, and then he watches Dani lead his team to the finals after crying on his shoulder a fortnight after he knocked him out, I think Neymar finally had enough. Lucho deserves a bit for this too. Had we not handed the first leg to them with his shocking line-up, who knows? Dani's warning to the board really came true.

So don't point the finger solely at Neymar. Yeah I'm pissed he's gone too. But you can't be surprised with the toxic environment this board projects onto this team. It makes you admire the ones who do stay, through thick and thin, even more. I mean, the dude who got him here in the first place is in jail. Keep that in mind. Old saying of fruit from a poison tree, ya know?

I wish him the best overall and I really don't blame him at all for leaving. It's just the club he picked that I'm most salty about. Much rather had seen him go to Milan or the PL, and to see them get another win against us on the market is pretty infuriating to me.

We will go on though and I'm very relieved he's gone. This gives Valverde even more ability to make this team truly his now.

overrated English clubs or Milan doesn't offer him what PSG offered. A chance to win Champions League. A chance to win Golden Ball. if he stayed at Barca, he would probably see 35 years old Ronaldo winning another golden ball the year after. Moreover, he wouldn't win it even if Barca win CL. just because he is in the shadow of Messi.

This deal will benefit both clubs. First off, PSG will have chance to win CL with Neymar and co, Second off, Barca has 250 m euros now to make the team better.

Like it or not, PSG is one of the best clubs in the world now.

Bolded part, could people stop bringing up this "shadow"? Messi's shadow was so big that 4 players at a time used to surround Messi, only giving poor Neymar 1 on 1 actions most of the time.

He's not better than Messi and going to psg won't change that. He'll still be in his shadow if that's the case.

PSG doesn't offer Neymar "a chance to win the Champions League".
If anything they now have a chance to win the Champions League because he went there. That would be the same if he went to an English club or Milan.

Neymar played in Messi's shade. Let's see if he burns without it.

This is probably the last time I'll post on this Neymar subforum. I usually don't have time to care for players from other teams, nothing personal against Neymar. I wanna say that I'm thankful that I got to witness one of the best, if not the best, trio of forwards in the history of football. I used to be a Neymar hater for the longest time. I still don't like some of his attitude, but I'm learning to accept people for being imperfect. No one can deny that he showed us a lot of brillant moments. He laughed with us when we won,but he also hurt when we lost. He was such a cry baby when we were eliminated
I'm willing to look at the positives more than the negatives. He helped us win a champions league, and how difficult it is to win one of those. Im a little hurt for his departure, but I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. I wanna believe that he is going to PSG, not ony for the money, but also because he feels that he can shine and be a better player there. If I knew that I would be a better player if I left for another team, I wouldn't think twice. Let's face it, players also have dreams of their own, and I respect that. Neymar was always gonna be outshined by Messi as long as Messi is at Barca. Messi is not retiring any time soon, and therefore Neymar is not showing his true potential. Neymar plays better in Messi's position, and I'm thankful he never questioned Messi being there while he played the wing, where even Messi doesn't perform as well as in the number 10 position. Neymar realized that he will never be "our new Messi" b.c Messi is still playing at the highest level. His last chance to the best player in the world is now. It's easier for him to be the best player in the world by playing for PSG than Barcelona. All he needs to do is win the champions league, and I would be crazy to pretend like PSG aren't favorites to win the CL anytime within the next few years.
Neymar is doing what we are all afraid to do: get out of our comfort zone. he has no idea what is gonna happen at PSG, and he's ok with that.
Im willing to give Neymar the benefit of the doubt. I think he's doing what's best for him.
Thank you Neymar for all the good moments.
good luck, brotha.
PS: please, don't ever go to madrid.

The asshole says that it's not his dad's but his decision to leave? So he is dumber than he is credited for I suppose!

Just defending his dad publicly, they both wanted to leave.

But at the end of the day it was his decision to make, if he'd wanted to stay he'd do that even with his whole entourage trying to convince him to leave.

So according to LEquipe:

- When he decided to leave, his close aids started talking with clubs.
- City, United, and Chelsea could have paid the release clause.
- Neymar asked his father to ask PSG, and see if the offer from last year was still up in the air.
- He favored PSG if it was the case.

Yeah, so if true, if it was not PSG? it was the PL anyways.

I understand why we hear no words from City, United, and Chealse on the neymar case.

And why Mou was so compleasant with the cost of the release clause...
