Neymar Jr. - v5

There shouldn’t be any sympathy for Neymar, he can wipe his tears off with his PSG salary. Nothing against him, but maybe his sadness comes from his own fans booing him as of recent. Either way he’s a grown man, I’m sure the booing is going to fade if he comes through against RM.

Not implying it says much about the league but he's scoring like crazy this season.
Overall, he's not in the better team, so what is it?

Lacazette was smashing that league last season and Zlatan at 34 scored 38 goals in the league. I can see PSG swapping Neymar for Ronaldo because it will suit all parties. Neymar will get to play in a tougher league, Ronaldo can continue scoring shitload of goals and have an outside shot at Balon D'or if they fluke the champions league and PSG will still have a player who will smash that shitty league.

I do. It feels like he is wasted there. The whole season is a cl warm up and a waste of his potential. Just playing a pointless league nobody watches at 30% hoping to peak for a ballon d’ or while partying and counting money in his free time. Sure, great life but his legacy and potential would be reached with us or in epl.
He made his bed, now let him lay in it.

Yeah of course but I still consider it a waste. I like Neymars despite the obsession with money and him being a mercenary for us in the end with all the drama surrounding his arrival/departure. As a footballer he was quality, part of the greatest attack ever and a contribution to many trophies.

It benefits everyone except psg. Only when Neymar is really pushing for Real and barely wanting to play. My respect for him is gone when he joins Madrid and it would be a huge step back on psg part in ambition.

Why are people so ibsessed with this tool?

We have been better without him.

Cavani became Psgs top scorer. Im pretty sure Neymar wont break that record.

Given how devastating he looked in pre season with us under Valverde I think we would be even better with him. Plus here he'd be motivated to play, unlike it's happening in France.

But he and his scoundrel father had other plans, so fuck them.

Let him enjoy his golden cage.

He isn't going to Madrid anytime soon if at all people.

He'll probably only leave after mbappe becomes better than him and start getting all the praise.

Which will be in Maybe 2 more seasons.

why would they? they denied it themselves. Ronaldo is a class player but swapping future no.1 for an old man is beyond crazy
Neymar might want to leave but is he really ready to sacrifice the prime of his career in order to make PSQ let him go? Doubt it

Neymar just isn't leaving

In few years' time, he'll be near 30
Considering he's a playful Brazilian, nobody's gonna pay enormous amounts of money PSQ will ask for

Doubt he'll leave

He has a team that caters to me, he is now the main FK and PK taker also.

Yeah, that's true. 4 penalties and 2 freekicks scored.

But overall, he's scoring more despite not having much more shots on the goal per match (2.7 last season, 3 this season).

From the other topic:
Messi talks about the strength of the defense after Neymar's departure for Psg
https://twitter.com/ActualiteBarca/status/957210075109740549

Translation:
Messi says that the departure of Neymar has made us lose offensively, but we are more solid defensively, more equilibrium.

Now, when Messi says this, maybe more people will start to believe in this theory.
Some of us were saying for years that Neymar's style of play, Neymar's lost balls and counters against us were hurting us defensively.

People replied for years that Neymar was working in defense and tracking back.
That is irrelevant.
He was trying so many dribbles and lost so many balls that too often he hurt our team more with his numerous lost balls than with a slim end product of his dribbles.

Any comments about Messi's words how we are stronger defensively WITHOUT Neymar?
Again, I am quite sure that we are not stronger in defense ONLY because of Valverde.
Losing Neymar was one reason for midfield's and defensive stability.

We lost some attacking power, though.
But it seems that a gain in midfield in defense due to losing Neymar is way bigger than what we lost in attack due to him leaving.

In short: what he brings to a team is often less than how much we are losing in other areas (defense, counters against us, stability, balance, flow, teamplay, possession) when he is on a field and when he is playing solo whenever he receives the ball.

There is not an attacking player in the world would not be able to say swapping for an extra midfielder has improved the team defensively.

Messi was not in any way having a go at Neymar.
