I find it very interesting on how the recent articles about "Neymar to Barca"completely overlooks the fact that PSG might have a say in this.

After all, Neymar still have a contract with PSG until 2022.

It is the modus operandi of those media. Don't you remember Marquinhos, Thiago Silva, Verrati "da el si" publications ? As if PSG was not in the equation. Then Bartomeu came back saying that PSG didn't even let him make an offer for Verratti.

Here, PSG seems to be open as long as they bring 300 M€. It is the buying club to find ways to bring the money.

qatar gave the money. how can psg give money away without a signed contract?

The club gives the player the money to pay the release clause.

This is how it has been done for many players with release clause in Spain.

Ofc, the clubs aren't stupid to give the player money without assurance he will sign for them. They must have signed a contract that enforced the money to be spent only for his release clause if he joins the club afterwards.

So what happens if the player really wants to leave, and in this case lets say Neymar, but no clubs can afford 300m? Wont they be forced to lower the price cause the player wants to leave?

True except it flies in the face of what Nasser announced just over a week ago. I find it interesting how PSG puts a player effectively on the block while simultaneously believing they have say much less leverage on the player's transfer.

Moreover, there's a good chance that Neymar Sr., Kia et al might just have something to say about it themselves - they may indeed rattle PSG more than Raiola does to most clubs, we'll see

We wanted Di Maria some years ago from Real Madrid. Di Maria wanted to come to PSG. Due to FFP, we couldn't pay the money required by Real Madrid. He ended up going for one year to MU before PSG could afford him and bring him from the british club.

More recent example : last winter, PSG wanted Allan from Napoli. They wanted more than 100 M€ for him. He wanted to leave. PSG didn't want to pay that much and he is still a Napoli player.
Another example : Coutinho wanted to go to Barcelona. Liverpool didn't want to sell. When they accepted to sell, Barça had to pay a lot of money to get him. Sme story for Dembélé and Dortmund.

Bottom line is the buying club must please the non-willing selling club.

Nasser had that rude talk because Qataris are disappointed with Neymar. They treated him well and feel he has not hold up his end of the bargain.

So now, they go with no "feelings" involved and want their money back : 300 M. And if he can't bring that, they don't want him to cry like a baby.

It should be a straight swap

Coutinho+Rakitic (+maybe Umtiti) for Neymar.

Any deal involving players+100 M euros or even worse, any deal involving 200-300 M,will be the dumbest thing this board has ever done.

Yeah.
Smart from Barcelone to give two players they want to offload for a player PSG wants to keep.

I have full faith in Rakitic and Umtiti love for Barça and i hope they will never want to leave.

300 M is a ridiculous price. His transfer value dropped significantly in recent months. 150-200 M is still ridiculous, but is probably more realistic at the moment.

Our only hope is that PSG stands firm on their 300m, cash only demand.

Fuck me, I'd rather give 15m a year to De Ligt than bring back Neymar. The scum that sued us for a loyalty bonus while signing a contract with PSG ffs.

Abolsute joke of a club we are.

Lets pay 300m for a 28 yrs old injury prone player who had the chance to be a club legend but left us in a disgraceful manner

PSG doesn't want to sell though.

If they are forced to sell, they want to feel compensated for their loss. This is why the price is not "affordable".
Coutinho and Dembélé prices were ridiculous too, because their clubs didn't want to sell. Same story here.

And don't forget Barça and PSG boards aren't friendly either. Why would PSG give a discount for Barça ?
