At least he won't be blamed when they get kicked out of the CL.

I can't imagine how much the Neymar return to Barca rumors will catch fire this summer.

I'm fuming.

He is not even injury prone. The information going on from Paris is that the injury wasn't really consolidated but they rushed him to play the World Cup.

Basically, it was bound to happen, no matter what, just a matter of when !

2 years, 2 times out for our biggest challenges.

Season is over already.

The worst is that there is a Copa America in Brazil this year. I'm sure they'll pull the same trick and he will play there and we will get the player with his foot in bad shape again for a third exit in 1/8 of CL.

"Injury prone" is something that can happen at any time. All it takes is one, and then improper recovery. The imbalances created by one injury also changes how you put your weight on your legs and overcompensate towards one side/joint, which can lead to other injuries. Players can get a bad ankle sprain and then end up with some sort of chronic tendonitis issue, muscle problems that come after recovering from bone/joint injuries, etc. I had a pretty severe chronic stress fracture in one leg and ultimately got a knee injury in my right leg after trying to battle through it and returning too early.

Playing style can also lead to players getting injury prone. Fernando Torres' knees were fucked up over time because of how much he would cut to different directions without lowering his center of gravity. Ronaldo and Mbappe also run with a high center of gravity but the former doesn't use cuts that stress his knees that much, don't think Mbappe does either. Neymar has the unholy trinity of injury risk factors by playing in a way that invites a lot of contact, not having a low center of gravity, and being really skinny.

The thing with a Jones fracture in particular is that when you get it once you're at risk to get it again, and I've seen it lead to other kinds of problems later on like the knees or even back depending on how tall/heavy you are. It also heals poorly on its own because there's a lack of blood flow to the outer metatarsals of the foot. Surgery is almost always recommended in athletes and idk if I've seen any player in any professional sport get the fracture and not get the surgery with it. The reports say that Brazil NT and PSG doctors are in disagreement as the NT doctors want him to get the surgery and be fully fit for the Copa America while PSG don't want his season to be over.

So Jair's timetable of 6-8 weeks doesn't look very realistic IMO. Unless there's something unique about Neymar's case this time around.

Apparently he helped us sign De Jong because the club showed De Jong text messages Neymar had sent to his former teamates complaining about French league and climate.

neymar is a great player, but no thnks....

let's ignore the way he left the club.

even then he will be a 28 years old (next season) injury prone player costing 200 mio +.

by time messi retires/is ready to step down as main man neymar will be finished at that point.

I've never been a Neymar hater, I wasn't happy about the way he left but but I wasn't sour about it either. With that said I still wouldn't want him to return too.

I would rather pursue any glimpse of a chance if there is any to get Mbappe. Even that would only be possible years from now.

It is the opposite.
Brazil doctors want the less heavy treatment while PSG want to go for the more secure option and want him to get surgery.
Sure he would be out for the season but we signed the player on a 5 year contract, we are thinking long term.

Tuchel doesn't want surgery either.

He's missed more games in 1.5 season at PSG than he did 4 years at Barca.

Barca's training and medical staff are next level FFS.

Different class.

This injury (the first one at least) has nothing to do with medical staff.

How can a medical staff prevent a bone fracture after an hit ?

By the same logic, Lyon staff is top quality compared to Barcelona since Umtiti didn't have such an injury there.

Use logical reasoning please.

Barcelona provides unbelievable diet, fitness and training regimes based off of real-time data collected by the club.

It's incredible.

I have strong reason to believe that Neymar's bone wouldn't have fractured with that hit if he was still under Barca's care.

We'll never know for sure, but the data supports my argument.

Stunning healthcare at Barca FFS.
