Over a decade of dominance. There's kids that grew up only knowing those two as world's best. I feel sorry for them. They didn't have the 00s era with 10+ world class legends.

Those 10 plus world class players weren't messi and ronaldo class level. Not close to ronaldo in the numbers level and messi numbers and all round game combined.Zidane ronaldinho and r9 were pretty close. You could also find 10 world class players nowadays close to those players level. De bruyne, neymar and mbappe to name a few

They were over and above cr7s level all day long. Cr7 is excruciatingly one dimensional. I am not going to call someone who can't dribble past a player as better than those legends.

That's why I specifically said close to Ronaldos numbers level. Ya those players were all technically better

Haha while I was watching the game yesterday, I saw the shirt swap and I immediately starting yelling to my flat mate - "YOU CANNOT DO THAT, YOU CANNOT DO THAT! BAN THE CUN*!"

Haha, I know it's a bullshit story, still funny to see there's an actual news article about it :D

What? Messi and CR7 are attackers. Back then they're were world class players in every position. Brazil alone fielded a whole team of them. It's unquestionable who are the worlds best today but back then you could argue the standing would change weekly. Plus there were far more competitive teams in the mix and many teams weren't simply goal farms.

I dont know about the competitive teams thing early 2000s. If your talking about the top leagues its roughly the same amount of teams competing for titles in each league. There was more teams competing the last ten years or so really

It's different.
Let's say that back then Barca had 100m to spend, Real 100, Atletico 70, Valencia 70, Deportivo 50 and other teams 20.

Today you have:
Barca 500, Real 500
Small teams 20

The difference between teams is bigger today.
It means that big teams are able to buy all players and they are dominating way more.
Let's say that Barca:Las Palmas was a match with 8:5 shots 20 years ago.
Today it's like 20:3 in shots.

That means that Cr7 and Lewa get way more chances today and they score way more than attackers from 20-30 years ago.

Both Messi and Cr7 would probably drop from 50 to 30 goals per season if they would have played in 1998'.

R9 from Barca's days would be a 50-60 goals per season guy today.

Ruud from 2004-2006 would bang 50+ goals per season today for Rm/Barca/Bayern with current Mickey Mouse 6:0 and 7:1 trashings at Camp Nou.

Today we have a different football world.

Do we rather was to see Neymar with his snakeface win it along with that oil regime backing them, or do we want to see Bayern win and have their 6th, surpassing us?

Neymars Agent :

There was a time when he was sad because of his injuries. At that time he was prone to leave, to return to Barcelona or go to Real Madrid. Not today, you can see his joy,? Wagner Ribeiro told Placar.

?I joke with him: living in the city of light, where everyone wants to stroll, enjoying French cuisine, living in a beautiful house, with friends and family close by, playing for one of the best clubs, with everything a person needs and likes? What reason would he have to leave PSG today??

Neymar will stay atleast 2 more season with PSG or maybe more

Are you sure about the whole less shots against las palmas 20 years ago thing. Have you stats to back that up. Rivaldo on his own had about 10 shots per game. If teams create more nowadays why is there nobody other than messi and ronaldo scoring more than 50 a season. Yes Lewandowski did it this year but he hasnt been doing that as consistently as them.

Makes sense. Why would he leave if he wins the CL? Same goes for Mbappe.
