don’t purely go by stats. Watch his game to give some context as to why take ons are that highly successful.

Mind you, I have underlined that the reason for it could be considered a positive.

The clue that I will give is that Eze having half percentage of successful take ons is not because eze is half the dribbler.

Or think of midfielders that have super high passing completion rate in a game even though they had a quiet game(jamrock you’ll appreciate this one)

I will say, it is a very good stat to have for Nico, but there is a caveat if one is ready to jump to assuming he is master dribbler.

Doesn't have to be a master dribble the stats for this season when he's having a off year and he's still one of the best in la Liga and the EL, tells us he's an effective dribbler and progresses the ball well from the wings.

If we break that out into the entire years, he's No doubt Elite, because at that point both the FACTs and the STATS, only points you to one conclusion.

Last season he ended the year with 8 goals and 19 assist, 95%+ in the things I mentioned earlier.

Anyone saying he isn't elite is just a big LOL.

The best reason I've heard not to sign him, is that it may be better to sign someone like raphinha who is great at finishing actions since we already have yamal on the team, but even that a none argument really.

For 60m euros, no better player we could sign, for the present and future.

No. Discussion was not as to should be signed or not. Was interpreting stats.

You'd take him over Leao?

I know, i just added that because raphinha's form seem to have changed a few opinion about him, flickls fans and all that.

His dribbling is definitely elite, he's no Vini Jr, but he's in that group right below him, both when you watch the games and with the stats.

I think he's largely being held back by the kind of football Mister plays and if he signs for us, he'll take a big step up to match that level.

Personally I think it’s due to his personality. He’s simply not a risk-taker and more calculative. He picks his moments very carefully when decide to beat opponent in front of him. At times will result into backpass spamming.

Again, is not necessarily knock against him and could complement yamal.

You’re right that it could come down to tactics, but he did the same with Spain.

In game decision making, passing, off the ball work, attitude.

That's 4.
Literally just attitude. But that doesn't go as a football ability, more like some personal characteristics.

If we are talking purely about who's the better footballer I think there is zero doubt Leao clears him.
