Oliver Torres

AS is an unreliable source, although it could explain why the fee was insultingly low (along with the fact David has high wages).
They are rm based, but shouted Tata's name before the other papers, if I'm not mistaken.
I hope it's true.

Thing is, that kid is the same age as me. He wouldn't be fully ready even in three seasons when Xavi might retire.

Barca will likely start showing solid interest by the end of this season, sadly I wouldn't be surprised if his price tag is around 36-37m by then.

I don't mind him coming but he won't be mature enough to take over the midfield for several years.

Why do we want Oliver Torres when we have Sergi Samper? :shakeshead:

Of course I'd love for us to sign him, but please, for once, let the other la liga sides hold on to their talented youngsters.

They play different yet equally key roles. I for one believe that the two could actually coexist in a midfield very well and develop a wonderful understanding between themselves.

Although, I do agree with you about the 2nd part. I'd absolutely love to see Oliver at Barca, but I feel bad that if that were to happen it would harm Atletico who are battling against all odds to grow into an elite club.

I realize that they play different roles, but his purchase could still hinder the growth of our own talents in midfield. for example Ayoub.

He has a 24m buy out clause.

Wouldn't be surprised if they raised it at the end of the season if he breaks out. Dunno though, circumstances haven't been tested yet so we'll see how things play out.

Ayoub is far too young to be in consideration. As for our other talents (Rafinha, Kaptoum, etc.) we can't have them all succeed at the club so we'll see how things go for them and if they really do progress to their potential and become the players they are capable of becoming. Either way, if one of those talents actually becomes THAT good, then progress won't be hindered and they'll be found a deserved spot in the lineup. We will find a way to incorporate star talent, it's not like they will be ignored.

I think they would struggle to get him on another contract to raise his buy out that much.

Supposedly Jorge Mendes bid for around 20% of his ownership, not sure whatever happened with that though.
