Someone needed to have over ruled Xavi on pining for Busquets to point would not buy any cover for him when spending hundreds of millions.

Then allowing him to sign Romeu.

It isnt good enough planning for a club like Barca.

DM was a bigger priority... when have Dembele and spend 120m on another two right wings.

When spend on x3 CBs etc.

Yet end up with Romeu as DM.

Spend 9m a season on 4th CB and have Romeu as starting DM is wild. To the point that even Gundogan was chosen ahead of a proper DM and I like him.

To be honest FDJ and Gavi make a good pairing and thats way will go when fit but the issue is Xavi still rating Romeu too highly.

But you are then limiting FDJ a bit although way top teams are playing at moment there is not a sitter as pure DM and allowed bit more freedom.

Amrabat would have made far more sense for legs in midfield but Xavi has this idea that only Spanish players understand football in way he does at times and its a weakness he needs to get past for good of team.

Amrabat for 35m would have been a crap transfer. We need to scout the shit out of a DM prospect and try to get him in in January. Don’t think there’s any other choice.

And the only reasons Barca bought Romeu is that he's extremely cheap and Xavi wanted him. Xavi has known him for a long time.
