He surprised us all. Many of us thought that he is only a bench material. However, now we can't imagine starting 11 without him. I am so glad we have him in our squad!

In a 4-3-3, where would you play him? At the moment I think he'd be better as a RB than a CB. Surprisingly very good on the ball under pressure.

But his potential at CB is huge, although very hard to reach with his current flaws.
He's like David Luiz, who was once PL's best CB, but most of his career he's looked like a clown. That's what you get from that type of player. Reminds me of a young Ramos as well.

Sooner or later he won't be able to rely on the 'safety' of playing in a back 3. That's his last step in development.

I think he has been much better at CB than RB so far. He had one terrible game as RB where he looked slower than Busquets, and he is showing time and again that he isn't great 1v1 anyway. Offensively he is a bit rough, but can do it decently, not very far from Oleguer, or maybe somewhere in between Oleguer and Puyol when he gets forward on the flank.

As a CB he has more passing lanes open and have shown a great calmness and ability to pick the right option from there. He is also good at picking the time to press or intercept from an attacker with his back towards the goal. I think the back 3 suits him very well, but he had great games as a CB in a back four as well.

I don't know that his potential is huge, but he can play. Bartra could play as well.

David Luiz is clown in his head. Thats is biggest problem.

He plays well in every position, but CB in the back 3 is the best position. CB in back 4 is second best, and RB in back 4 is the worst position, but still does it decently.

Looking at the CB market, his potential is very high. Could be a top 5 defender in 1-2 years if he continues to improve.

When he started he was unsure on the ball, but he's already grown a lot in this area in the last 3-4 months to the point that you rarely see a passing error even when he is pressed or doesn't have a lot of space.

His diagonal balls are spot on.

I am at the point where I would be more than okay with us going into next season with Pique, Lenglet, Araujo and him. Defense quickly went from being our 2nd biggest problem to being quite okay - at least personal wise thanks to Mingueza.

Yea, we added some grit and speed. Pique and Lenglet are technical, but slow and pretty mellow, Pique is the better organizer and is a bit of a leader. Araujo is strongest, but poor on the ball, and clumsy technically, Mingueza is the most balanced.

HE is all heart. And hard work beats talent.

He has been the best thing this season. Lets hope he becomes a starter for the next 10 years.

I think the 3 at the back is here to stay as long as Messi is in the starting 11. It solves his "central problems" and offers defensive stability that he compromises in a 4-2-3-1 at CAM. In a 4-3-3, Messi can only play CF these days, but Koeman has realized he needs a real CF at this point.
