Leao and Dembele have adequate workrate off the ball even if not as great as Raphinha's and with Xavi preferring one defensive FB it would work. Either way as you said the attack would be way more explosive and they'd make up for it that way.

When Raphinha and Dembele both are available the choice on who to play is easy.

Dembele can do everything Raphinha can do, but is quicker/more explosive and can dribble past players with ease. Probably loses the ball a bit more, but that trade-off is worth it.

Dembele is simply a way more dangerous player.
