Think it has something to do with how every senior in the team wanted him to do well; I'm pretty sure they've advised/tried to help him likely; May be he just ain't the kind who listens

This. All the things we have heard.. It's tough to pat his back. He was given everything to succeed but guy is not professional enough.

You can thank Valverde and his''physical preparation isn't important' opinion. Dembele isn't the only one who's been injured, pretty much all first team players have been injured more under Valverde's reign, because fitness is taking a back seat under this fraud. Even Messi who wasn't injured for 5 years before Valverde, had two or three separate injuries since Valverde became our coach. And it's ridiculous and even more it's DISGRACE to see Barca fans making fun of Dembele and telling him to get lost, meanwhile he's crying and he's clearly distraught, the kid wants to PLAY and be an sset to this team, but clearly his physical regime needs to be tailor made especially for him to avoid him picking up muscle injuries in the future. Isn't it interesting that Dembele wasn't even considered injury prone back at Dortmund and Rennes, but now he's almost like Vermaelen. It's not a coincedence this started happening once Valverde took over. There's no communication between him and the players, and no special coaches and physios assigned to certain players to help them manage they lifestyle outside of football to reduce risk of injuries and improve their fitness level and injury prone trait. I refuse to believe Dembele is too stubborn to actually listen, you can see Valverde's lack of quality, and you really don't think this same attitude applies to all the assistant coaches under him!? It's much more probable that Dembele doesn't even receive the help he definitely needs, from coaches to someone mentoring him, we forget he's still only 22, he needs a proper lifestyle and fitness regime, and i'm 100% sure he's not getting it with Retardo 'coaching' him, when the guy probably the only time he speaks to the players are on match days.

First it was 19, then 20, then 21 and now 22. The excuses keep piling up but nothing changes. The guy is not professional enough.

Robben was very professional and still was injured half the time. There are other players as well like Vermaelen, Reus, recently Paco etc who had/have lots of trouble with injuries and i doubt they all just sit at home playing FIFA all day.

Some guys just can't stay healthy, sometimes that can get fixed with like a change of diet or training but that's not always possible. Dembele not being the best professional surely doesn't help it but that doesn't mean it's the reason for his problems.

The amount of muscle injuries this season is pretty high in general though so there might also be problems in the physical preperation of the whole team.

what a drag ... he looked so motivated in pre-season training! Apparently, it's a thigh strain. Further tests needed to determine severity.

The state of this Barcelona team. A dude gets injured, again, and there's not even a pat on the back from anybody. How's a young guy like him meant to like playing there when there's seemingly such a small support network.

Haven't seen it yet but wasn't Leo talking with him next to the paramedics? or whatever you call these dudes lol. Also, looks like Bob went to console him for a while with his hands on the shoulder. Just for that, I'm now a fan of Sergi hahaha

Some players really can't do anything about it as their bodies are made of glass. With Démbéle I advise you to watch the interview with Démbéle's neighbor when he was living in Klopp's house. Then consider how he missed training sessions right away the moment he arrived at Barca, fired his personal nutrisionist, forgot his passport during an away trip etc.

Not hard to imagine his lifestyle choices and what it means for his body. Even as an amateur lifter in the gym you notice right away if you haven't slept or eaten well. This is a pro athlete.

He looked devastated. If he didn't take care of himself he wouldn't be so sad after an injury.

What kind of logic is that? Like how Kompany didn't cry after he got an injury? Or by your logic Kompany also doesn't take care of himself?

No, what are you on about? You can't using the logic backwards.

The logic was this:
If a player is so sad after an injury => he takes his career seriously => he takes care of himself.
Because if he didn't take care of himself he wouldn't give a damn about an injury. He would walk out cool thinking about playing fortnite.

This in no way shape or form means that:
If a player doesn't look sad after an injury => he doesn't take his career seriously => he doesn't take care of himself.
