If he stays fit (big if) I wouldnt mind something like Fati-CF-Dembele post Messi as of now. They look like a good combination: Fati the clinical goalscorer and Dembele the chaotic creator. Much preferable than to build around Griezmann (the horror).

Imagine last season vs Bayern with Dembele, Puig and Fati. I dont know maybe we would have won that match, the 2-8 was waay to high, barca has given up after the 3-1.

I still don't think we could have won the game, but we sure as well would have created more chances against them with Bayern's high line.

The bigger question is if he can shrug off that inconsistency or it's something that will stay with him all of his career. He's not 20 anymore.
He's played like 10 games in 3 years, we need to give him a full season if he can remain fit to see if those deficiencies in his game will work themselves out in time.

Like I keep saying, he's the only goal creator on this team besides Messi. Even if he makes really dumb mistakes, he's the only one that can create individual magic to score a goal. This is valuable in a team composed of players absolutely scared to shoot and players who are in terrible form (Griezmann). IMO he should be starting every match and play 50-60 mins to not get injured.

IMO he's playing better decisions-wise than he ever did for us, and that is with his usual WTF moments too. Certainly better than in the few games of the last season. He did mature to an extent.

Let the past be the past and let it pass.

This video are highlights of this season only.
Watch this guy looking like he doesn't give a single fuck about kicking the ball and lulling a defender into a false sense of security. See him one second later, doing some body feints and making that defender look like an amateur. His pace and acceleration is insane.
What I also noticed is that he seems to have a good chemistry with Messi.
I'd also say that he has vision, but destroys it sometimes with overdosed passes.
Another positive, he can carry the ball from midfield to the box and attack the space between opponents back four and midfield. Messi was good at that in his prime, but doesn't do it that often anymore.
His shots look decent too. Lots of power and pretty precise. Something about his shooting technique reminds me of CR. I mean, Dembele is not on that level, but you know what I mean.

His tactical discipline and defensive contribution leave a lot to be desired. These things should be fixable though. Of course there are many other things to improve.
