I hope we don't sell him in January, would be a mistake.

The club are scared of him running out his contract and want to sell or extend his contract.
I'm on the fence with this guy.
He is a real talent not just a hyped one. However his lack of discipline is a major problem.
He is a guy who can look brilliant and shit in the space of 30 seconds.

Let the past be the past and let it pass.

This video are highlights of this season only.
Watch this guy looking like he doesn't give a single fuck about kicking the ball and lulling a defender into a false sense of security. See him one second later, doing some body feints and making that defender look like an amateur. His pace and acceleration is insane.
What I also noticed is that he seems to have a good chemistry with Messi.
I'd also say that he has vision, but destroys it sometimes with overdosed passes.
Another positive, he can carry the ball from midfield to the box and attack the space between opponents back four and midfield. Messi was good at that in his prime, but doesn't do it that often anymore.
His shots look decent too. Lots of power and pretty precise. Something about his shooting technique reminds me of CR. I mean, Dembele is not on that level, but you know what I mean.

His tactical discipline and defensive contribution leave a lot to be desired. These things should be fixable though. Of course there are many other things to improve.

Just watching this vid, it reminded me how aesthetically pleasing (this is subjective) his touch is: the way he glides with the ball, the way he faints, the way he accelerates. Top notch talent.

Now, about his contribution: The only player we have who is able to create a break by dribbling down the flank, and the only one who can dribble through acceleration.
That's alone important. But he also has a knack of scoring goals that other wingers don't.

I don't see why he should not be a starter 90% of the time. Decision making is a problem, but if you take into account that current Messi and Griezman do not fare any better in their decision making, that's not a reason enough.

His offense is needed, but his defensive contribution with us is absolute shit.
Against Betis he will drop back the pitch but doesn't stick to his man, this allowed their LB to attack more (since Dembele was down and he didn't have to worry about him in counter attack) and S.Roberto found himself in a 2 on 1 situation many times.
He need to learn when and how to defend, because sometimes just keeping your attacking position is better than psuedo defending

Certainly one of the last players we should try to offload in mid season. There are so many others that need to go first. Still great potential imo and even with is erratic play and often dumb mistakes, still produces more GDP than lots of starting regulars.

Only player in team that can dribble the opponent since Messi is shit this season.

Last thing what we don't need is another winger or player as Depay that is not fast and can't provide dribbling one vs one on wing or attack.

He never really had a long run of games, I hope his body is stronger than ever to prevent any injuries, I really want to see what he develops into, could be a monster.
Btw don't go quiet shit talkers, kind of lame how you only talk when someone is at their low.

The problem of Dembele is that he has on the one hand very strong abilities like pace, shot, dribbling in big space and on the other hand very big weaknesses like ball control, decision making or dribbling in tight space.

His ball control isn't bad at all when his head is in the game. But he just seems to drift some times.
