Get Griezmann and Coutinho the f**k out asap, and pay Haaland's release clause and even if you get him on massive wages, I suspect it would still be much less than Griez and Cou are earning together right now. And we'd actually have a world class attacking trio in Fati-Haaland-Dembele again.

Who would buy Griez and Cou? Noone. And acou injured today our chances to loan him to Arsenal are straight 0 now.

Griez is only affordable to PSG. And they are loaded with players. So...

It is not about the missed chances but about created ones when he is on the pitch. He is always going to have some dangerous shots or passes when he plays. Agree that he should have buried it though. IMO he is clearly the second best attacking player in this team after Messi, not that it takes much. Pedri and Ansu close but they are younger and can have off games.

I agree.
As i said. This team is in deeeeeep trouble.

Was the only interesting avenue of attack after was subbed on. Cowman tries to play with bunch of mids and no penetrative attack like he was Del Bosque in 2010-12 with Spain. Doesn't work that way with these players. Hope Dembz can keep his muscles in tacts, because at this moment he is the most exciting player in our attack.

The team's attack looked so much better once he came on.

Only criticism I would have of him is that he occasionally has sloppy touches on the ball. Mishandling a clean pass, misplacing a pass, or a weak shot at the keeper.

Still a great half.

Compared to his touches before. He looks amazing. Koeman has fixed his biggest issues.

i think it's more of a confidence thing with Dembele. He always had a good touch and looked great on the ball at Dortmund and Rennes.
He might misplace an easy pass here or there or lose the ball after taking on 3 or 4 players but it wasn't that bad.

Injuries have obviously taken a toll on his confidence and that will only come back with minutes on the pitch.
It cant be easy having to start all over every time you get a few games under your belt.
Dembele would be a beast if he could only stay injury free for a year

And to think there were talks of getting rid of him; what a serious blunder that would have been. I always stood faithful by this boy's side. Such talent cannot be ignored, because it's inevitable. All that he lacked was maturity, and all that was needed from us was a little patience. We are watching a star in the making; fingers crossed that he remains healthy and continues to evolve.

Make my words, when he reaches his late 20's he will be a whole different animal. Today we not only saw his great dribbling ability on the wings (thank you Cowman for putting him on the right), but we also saw him make a good attempt from outside the box (which went a bit wide to the left), we saw decent one touch passing to the middle particularly with Pedri, he had a 1 on 1 vs keeper that he missed but later scored a goal with a one touch finish, and then put a fantastic cross towards Braithwaite who was unlucky the ball didn't rebound off him and into the goal. He also left two in the dust and put in a cross for Trincao who could have scored or put in a better cross. Overall nice touches, a beautiful backheel to Pedri (watch out for this connection here) and basically he was the reference player in attack and the most dangerous out of the whole team.

Can't wait to see more from him.

He's got that extra cockiness most of the players in the team are missing. This one shot after being few minutes in that missed the target closely... You don't see this from other players in the team, let alone with their 'weaker' foot.

Dembele fit, Ansu fit and a competent CF and Barca improve massively.

Even a Depay who can play 9/false nine as Liverpool do and create space for wide players to run into would be a big improvement.

Not sure what deal is with Milik as not followed it closely but for free he improves CF as well for now.

Agreed. And a CB is massively needed. A top one. Plus a physical fast midfielder who can hit a shot properly. Like a 2013-2014 Vidal.

One thing about Liverpool comparisons though. Klopp is the reason they play like that. A poorer manager wouldn't use Firmino even half as well as Klopp does.

He was a much better signing than Coutinho or Griezmann. His profile at least made sense for a Neymar replacement.

If he didn't have problems with injuries he'd be a confirmation by now. Football-wise, with the known problems, he is a difference-maker. Even now it's not too late. Let's hope he doesn't get injured again.

The sad part is he's basically playing catch up as he had setbacks due to his bad injuries.

He just needs a season without his damn hamstrings exploding.

True. And if he has a healthy season I think his hamstring will get better. It never healed properly because he reinjured himself quite quickly after coming back.

For me, injuries are the problem. The player has unique qualities that are super rare. Probably the most explosive player in 1 vs 1 out of anyone. Sure he has other things to work on, but being a beast in 1 vs 1 is a quality that is hard to find.

If Dembele stays fit (big if), and we have Ansu, Dembele, and Pedri that's a pretty great attack. We just need a top 9 and the attack is sorted with very high-quality players.

Lately been watching Bundesliga highlights and Patrik Schick has impressed me (in terms of a combination of technique, intelligence, speed, agility, athleticism). Could be a good option in 1-2 years if we don't have funds for Haaland or he prefers another team.

Always told you the problems were mostly due to injuries (and confidence actually...)

As a profile, he's exactly what you need now, someone who brings speed and breaks lines, in a team that sorely needs that.

Always said the same.
