Created chances, got in dangerous positions, defended well, and made runs. Overall great game for him.
But his finishing is disappointing. Either shoots weakly slstraight at the keeper, or tries to get cute and allows the opposition to take away his space.

Good game, some great chances created, decent dribbling, bad finishing. 7/10 performance. Our tempo did not suit him today at all. Hope he stays injury free as he is still a top-10 winger in the world imo.
His defensive workrate and number of offensive off-the-ball runs have gone up as well. Also noticed he added long range passing to his game as he switched the play a number of times. Notwithstanding the injuries, safe to say he is adding more to his game.

Bar his finishing this is the best he has played for us.
Before he had some good moments but he also carelessly sloppy and his positioning on and off the ball needed work especially when it came to tracking back. Something also surprising is, I think Koeman has actually improved him in that regard. The rest of it when it came to cutting down the sloppiness and losing the ball too damn easy is probably him getting a run of games and having more confidence in his own body to help improve his flaws.
He just needs a season where he doesn't have that many interruptions to put it all together.

Pray to God he is injury free,because if that happens We have a world class player in our hands.

Look at him in his Dortmund days and 2017/18 before he got injured and after he had recovered vs now.
At Dortmund, he showed some serious talent even though he was raw as hell. I think the biggest mistake we made was rushing him back too early as he hasn't trained in a long time as he was going on strike in order to force a move. But at the same time, I didn't blame Valverde for it, He wasn't impressed with Deulofeu and we needed a far more dangerous player at LW and Dembele was our only choice.

He finally looks like he believes he belongs and is taking control of his role in the side. The rest of the players are also looking "up" to him. So that is a big mental change.
Our structure will allow his best version.
Just have to hope he stays injury free, as finally, we really need him.
