Not trying to be contrarian but I wasn?t impressed at all. Seemed like a lot of potential chances didn?t happen due to his inability to think. His composure is awful.

I agree he?s dangerous, should start on the RW and has that thing about him that scares defenders but I just mean yesterday was such a brainless performance mixed with lack of composure.

I actually agree. After that wonderful cameo against Eibar I thought he was underwhelming yesterday.

This has been the case with Dembele, he very rarely chains 2-3 good games, he always needs to squeeze in a meh game.

Gets into great chances but misses. Seems like he must play a good game to score, can't do a Suarez or Cristiano where he's crap but still manages to score.

He was underwhelming but thats not much of a surprise since he thrives when there is alot of space to run. Huesca defended in a deep block for most of the game. They didn't give us much space at all.

Mixes good and terrible moments to a point you can argue just about anything. From him being awful to him being great. Guess he's just that kind of a player. Dangerous, sometimes for us, sometimes for the opponent.

Yeah i think thats the best Dembele at the moment. He will probably learn to fix it when he would be injury free for 2-3 years.

The bad or sloppy moments have been reduced a lot if you compare with how he was at the beginning playing for Barca.
He is atm the most mature he has ever been
Against Huesca he was anything but underwhelming, same danger, same penetration. He is the most creative and dangerous player we have at the moment.

Some more stats about the forward players of Barca in 20/21 so far. Ratio of npGoal/npXGoals (shows conversion rate) in all competitions in descending order [Source]:

1. Dembele: npG=4, npXG=2.1, conversion ratio= 1.90

2. Fati: npG=5, npXG=2.7, conversion ratio= 1.85

3. Braithwate:npG=5, npXG=5.1, conversion ratio= 0.98

4. Coutinho: npG=3, npXG=4.3, conversion ratio= 0.72

5. Griezman: npG=5, npXG=7.3, conversion ratio= 0.68

6. Messi: npG=5, npXG=9.4, conversion ratio= 0.53

It should be clear that he should play at last together with Ansu when the kid is back. It should also be clear that had Messi predominantly, and then Griezman, converting their chances, Barca would have more points in the League to say the least

While he's still prone to the occasional brainfart, I agree that he's become much, much better with his touches and passing. He's much more clean with his straight forward passes and he doesn't randomly give away the ball as often now.

One can argue that at this current level of give-aways, he's not that far off from Messi (in that particular aspect) - who has also been giving away the ball a crazy amount of late. Difference being of course - Messi gives away the ball making much more difficult passes, Dembele gives it away making simple passes (sometimes) but the frequency is more or less the same.

Can anyone pull up his passing rate? Think he might have 100%. Don't remember a misplaced one.

There was definitely one misplaced one I remember. It was in the second half I think, he was coming in from the right of central midfield and he made a square pass left which went straight to the Huesca player.
