Devils is no1 Decade of Dominance supporter no doubt. Look at his avatar. Case closed. But... Devils, if he gets injured again, the joke's on you.

My real life circles have given me weird looks hearing me defend Dembele. It was tough sometimes, especially when arguing with Frenchies.

You guys are still not out of the woods yet. Needs to

1. Perform consistently for several seasons

2. Not get injured every 5 games.

Like guys, remember we've been here before. Dembele had borderline WC performances in 18/19 as well, and then he got injured for a year. lol

Right.

He's had 3 decent games since returning from another month long injury.

No doubt he's a good player, though.

Yea, but there's a difference between a top player that got unlucky with injuries and a dumb player who lacks quality and is also injury prone.

Dembele>>>Mbappe

Both are great, but when Dembele was at his very best, he could match Mbappe's level or even exceed it. I remember the France - England match where Dembele was the man of the match and better than Mbappe. That was 2017, before the injuries though obviously.

When at his top (doesn't happen often unfortunately) he could win games all by himself.

Moment of the game for me was when Messi scored his second goal and Dembele came over to congratulate him and Messi was all smiles. Seems Messi likes him, one must wonder why when they cant communicate. Guess they are speaking purely the language of football.....

Anti-everything
His technique seems to be improve, both dribbling and first touch. Koeman has done really well for Dembele.

He's done well with a lot of the younger players (except one) imo. I don't like how he initially tried to play the 3 10s and the fact that busi is almost a certified starter as well as his end of game substitutions when we are behind. Jusry is still out and I'm skeptical because of those reasons.

It's been pointed out already but it was evident he was the leader of the right side. Steered Dest both vocally and with gestures.

At this point, playing him as a LW is as dumb thing to do as when Neymar played RW under Tata. Even though he's ambidextrous his position is to the right, no doubt.

My 3-point plan for Dembouz to unlock Decade of Dominance:
1. Stay injury free
2. Build up consistency in performances (Good vs Eibar, not that good v Huesca, now very good vs Athletic)
3. Start providing point wise (Shoots pretty good from distance, can be more decisive from short range)

Ideally we should aim for.

Fati Messi Dembele
Pedri FDJ Puig/Wijnaldum
Alba Araujo Pique Dest/Roberto
MATS

Now we can talk about going on a run

He is looking great and like he can be the future RW for many years BUT he does need to do this for the remainder of the season and have no more injuries to be able to say he was worth half the price we paid. Then next year same again and he'll finally be worth the fee lol

Of course he is good if we utilize his strengths: speed and room to manoeuvre. It is always donw to the coach to hide weaknesses of a team and emphasize strengths of the team. We can have great tempo maker in FDJ, penetration in Fati and Dembele, speed in Dest and even magic in Messi, movement of Pedri and so on...but it needs to be incorporated in working team, not static, pass to feet, no movement game. Yes, even then we need some type of box to box, DM whatever, but still, we would look 5 times better than in some games, even with this exact team.
