People still don't understand how player transfer fees are amortized over the duration of their contract and we don't need to sell for 110m just to break even.
For example in Dembele's case, he cost us 110m or whatever, so that means something like 22m/year, thus by being in his 4th year we already covered 88m of his contract fee. We just need to sell him for 22m to break even, anything above is going into our profits for the next fiscal year.
Of course we won't be able to sell him for 60m but that's just the starting point. We will meet in the middle with the next buyer if he ever leaves. Something like 40m is doable imo, he's still fairly young and the next team could think that he may finally be able to put it all together, who knows.
