Still a treacherous rat,

But watching him play is an absolute treat. Him and Yamal are box office.
He scores more now but i don't think he is better to watch, compare to his 21/22 pure winger form for example.

And obviously can't compare to Yamal. Yamal's technique is on different level.

I didn't know the world only consisted of farmers.
QSG is 21 points from 2nd place. It's a joke of a league.
For the records, La liga and Premier league have had a good number of title winning runs where the difference between the leaders and the runners- up have been nearer the 20s. Should we classify them as farmers league too beased on your premise above? The season is not over, the 21 points may well end up at 10, 15, or more. Ironically, many of you touting the French league as farmers league in 2019/20 considered the perfomance of Lewandoski Ballon D'or-worthy in a league where the gap between the perenial Champions(Bayern) and the next top team have been 25 points on occasions in the past but Dembele's similar perfomance must be discounted because he plays in a league where the current gap in an ongoing campaign is 21 points. Hypocrisy is that you?

Dembele has as much shout as any player in the top 5 league for Ballon D'or for having a great run in their league, UCL and some decent perfomance in the national team. All leagues usually have their period of dominance and the Ligue one has had its fair share too. It not only produced quality footballers year in year out, but players like Jean-Pierre Papin, Platini, and co have won Ballon D'or while playing in the french league too.

I read a lot of contemptuous posts here about many Barca players that leave the club especially if such a player left Barca on the terms perceived as not "too nice" to some people based on one sided reports fed to the mainstream media and overtly biased information fed to the public, fuelled by perceptions and imaginations of some newspaper columnists. A typical and recent example is the case of FdJ's salary where a very biased report had been fed to the public for long, obviously to influence public perception, until the player was forced to come publicly to dispel it. Dembele is one of many. Mac Giu, Nico Gonzalez, Kubo, Brahim Dia, etc are recent examples players not wished well here based on reports fed to the public when they left.

Dembele left Barca on a simple premise of seeing an opportunity of securing his future via a financial route, where PSG were offering him about 5 times more than he was earning at Barca. No rational human being will reject such, not even Warren Buffet. Every single person here castigating Dembele and developing some hatred towards him for that decision would have done the same thing or worse if faced with a similar situation. I wont ever begrudge a player for making decisions that will be in their best interests and future security of their families. I will never. Afterall they are humans too.

Dembele might have disappointed at Barca but as an ex-player of the club and a human, I am excited for him in the current season not only because he has been posting exceptional numbers but also because of of that exciting fast tempo one touch football PSG are playing now under Lucho. It is exhilarating.

LE is having a season like that 14/15 one. Since the turn of the year PSG have been at an incredibly high level.

But definitely, it is easier when, bar Marseille, they can buy out any decent looking player from a rival. They will even loan them for a year and collect the money for the team a year later. Something LaLiga FFP doesn't allow by comparison.

BRUVVVVVVVV!!!!!!!

Until this team goes to atleast the Finals, I will not take it seriously.

EDIT: Look at the Goal Difference, Bruvv, let alone the point difference. 8 out of their 11 wins are with such domination. how can you not say its a FARMERS league for them?

LE is my favorite manager, even more than Pep. I am happy he's doing something great, the same way he did for Barca.

... I respect your view, bro

Fortunately enough, you are just an individual who does not have any influence on who wins Ballon D'or.....

I will rather countenance and regard the opinions of the majority of football analysts and commentators as seen in various recent Ballon D'or power rankings. Those are the ones that will vote....their opinions determine the winner.....

Ok I will say I got carried away with Dembele only performing against Farmers.
I am not implying he's shit. And you can be the best player in the world even if you play in that league. As I would consider Messi the same when he was at QSG.
My contention is that until he proves himself in UCL by going to the finals, I won't take any of these rankings seriously. Just like Salah, now not considered a B'dor contender, the same can be/will be said for Dembele, who has done even less in his lifetime.
LE is their manager, he is supposed to say those things. If you have a top-performing player in your team, who is currently on form, you are supposed to say he is the best in the world. That's how the game works.

My contention with you is that Ligue 1 being a "Farmers' league", which I have stats to back it up.

Interesting post.

I think your argument is about the league not being that important a factor in the Ballon D'or race, rather the UCL carries most weight, as typefied by your Salah's example even if same can be said of all those still in the race now including Barca players, not just Dembele.

Win UCL and you could be a B'Dor winner, lose UCL then you are toast even if you hit incredible numbers in the league..

In my view "Farmers league" is a derisive term used by those who try to claim superiority without congent foundations aside from weightless points.

I am silent member of a few Premier league club supporters fora and it is not uncommon to read instances where La liga is referred to as a "farmers league" or a " 2 club league" in their discussions. I discount it immediately because I am most convinced that stemmed from their limited view of things beyond the EPL. Surely, not a few of Liverpool fans changed their view of PSG as a "farmers' league team" after they outplayed them home and away in the UCL.

Would love to see the statistics you referred to above for more context though.
