Paco Alcácer

"Paco is doing everything I want of him and, even though he is still adapting, he is doing it perfectly," Luis Enrique said at a news conference.

"It is key that the squad knows Paco can do a job for the team.

"He arrived at the end of pre-season which makes things difficult but I'm pleased. Alcacer has been wonderful, he has been almost perfect.

"I am happy with his performances."

Almost perfect, fam. :lucho:
You can look up Lucho's quotes on Douglas for comparison :)

Munir never needed to adapt, he was already here, already knew how the team plays, his role AND never costed 30 M
that makes him a better option for us

Please. Munir was bad for the entire last season and then some. Just look at his thread during last season; for every positive post about him there were 10 negative ones. His only good games were in Copa and now in pre season, and that's simply not enough to warrant people talking about him as some kind of demi-god. He had his chances for 2 years, and didn't use them.

The 400 minutes is a hyperbole, the point being, he will hardly play

You don't know this. Nor do you have anything to back it up other than a senseless claim. We wouldn't sign a 30m player to play 400 minutes and CDR. The last time we had a back-up forward, Pedro in 2014/2015, he played plenty. He played in La Liga, CDR, CL...in every competition and had 50 appearances in the season. Don't be so naive.

And No, you're wrong
You don't improve by watching Top players playing, you improve when you get chances to play, show what you are capable of, play against different opponents, gain experience, finding out your weak points, and correcting them and once you are ready you come back to Barca

Nope, you don't improve by watching. Paco isn't watching though, he's training daily and will be used to sub our forwards and will be used to rest them as well. See my post above for a reference example on that.

Had it been the way you put it, Douglas, and other trash players we bought in history would have at least been better after watching our top players play and train
I disagree there

Again no one said anything about watching. Douglas wasn't signed for Sporting reasons. We all know that. There are players who we have signed but have prove they are not capable, i.e. Vidal. But Paco isn't anywhere near that conclusion yet.

Perhaps Valencia could be in a mess or whatever
But
I don't see how the same player will develop better in Barcelona as a fringe player given few minutes to play
than in Valencia where he is trusted and given responsibility as one of the team leader

Again, it is extremely unlikely that he is going to play as little as you think he will.

Let me ask you, how many times do you think we will sub Suarez this season?
Let's say in a game where we are leading 3-0 and it's the 70th minute, those ones perhaps. So he comes in when the team has already won the game, and key players have been taken out, and the team is passing time, is that a perfect opportunity to grow? No if you ask me

He's not just going to be used as a Suarez sub, Lucho has already played them together. So this isn't an effective way to judge his minutes this season.

He can play as a sub for Suarez in a 4-3-3. Or he can play along side Suarez in a 4-4-2 and other 2 striker formations. Against tougher defensive opposition he can be used as a in the box striker where we have a 4 player attacking system.

There's plenty of options to play him.

I certainly don't see Lucho subbing him in when we need a goal? Why bring him in while we have Rafinha, Arda who are on better goalscoring form and can offer more in attack to give us a goal? So i see lucho subbing Rakitic/Busquets for Arda/Rafinha

His biggest bet is CDR

Of course Lucho will sub him in when we need a goal. Arda maybe on better goal scoring form, but he isn't a better goalscorer than Paco. And it's hilarious that you bring up Arda's goal scoring form. Arda took 9 months before he showed any signs of consist quality at Barca, yet here you are praising his goals while writing Paco off after 4 weeks.

Paco is not even a fraction of a player Umtiti, Gomes are
Talentwise especially

 Way to miss my point entirely.

Paco Alcacer: "I know that I have to score already."
"I'm a striker and I live on goals and to score them. If that wasn't the case I would be a defender or a goalkeeper."
"Forwards are judged by working hard and scoring goals. You have to take the few chances that you get."
"I'm not obsessed, if you obsess it's worse. But if you're not mentally strong you can end up obsessing."
"My adaption is very well because teammates help the new players a lot. It's easy to fit in on this team."
"In the Barça locker room, I find a very ambitious family that wants to win titles."
"When you train with Messi, you see he's greater than you think. In a square meter, he does incredible things."

Ridiculous way to judge a developing player, a player who jumped youth levels with ease. By that metric, not a single cantera player would ever turn into anything

Yes, Munir was thrust into a precarious rotating position too soon/young and struggled to consistently make an impact. The difference however is that he got better and we saw his ability to influence results the more minutes he got. That's why they call it development, not kneejerk degradation

Plenty of people in here wanted the donkey Mario Gomez though. You know who you are. Wolfsburg will probably get relegated if they continue playing that guy.
