Paco Alcácer

When in need for actual attacking reinforcement: put in Arda at LW and Neymar more central.
When Suárez needs a rest against useless teams at home: put in Paco.

Paco's role could've been taken by any player good enough to play in Segunda B.

And that include Munir, Sandro and all Barça B attackers.

in modern football, that is not really that much

Thats what we barca fans have been telling ourselves ever since this hapenned to convince ourselves we didn't overpay

But the truth is, it is a lot, even by the standards of modern football, and we did overpay, a lot.

Barcelona and majority of rich clubs almost always overpay. Are those 2 worse players than Wijnaldum, Benteke, Slimani, Sissoko, Batsuhayi, Xhaka, Sane, David Luiz, Mustafi and goddamn John Stones? All those players cost more last transfer season and not all of them went to as good clubs as Barcelona. Worth Higuain worth the money? Was Pogba?
Fact is that unless you get a player on last year of contract, and you are a top club, everyone will milk the last cent out of you. If a player is successful or not later on, NOONE can truly tell. Sure you can make guesses and those who guess right, will always be "the smart ones", "told you so" guys at the end, but in reality, if player will succeed depends on so many different factors that noone can guess correct. Take Mahrez for example, Leicester wanted to offload the guy and noone wanted him for peanuts before Ranieri came to club and made him one of the most wanted players in the world. It depends on so many different things.
As for Paco, as i have also stated several times, i also did not think it would be a good transfer as we needed an experience striker who is good from bench, but got as young guy as who we offloaded. Paying 30 mil for young spanish national team striker with loads of La Liga experience does not seem that much though, alot more has been paid for much less exiting prospects.

btw according to transfermarkt, his value has been around 25 mil euros since 2015 already, so it is not really that we overpaid so much for him, it is rather the fact he has been completely useless for the team.

Barçapocalypse NOW!
Shit, I say give this guy a run of a few games, he can't do any worse than what we have up front right now.

Are you serious? Have you seen him on the pitch? I don't even dare to say "play" because most of the time he's just there with sad puppy eyes...

Can't see why he was bought if we can't have him play when we need to chase result.
For Copa matches vs minions?

Robert and Lucho should answer questions.

Meanwhile Munir is playing better for Valencia than Paco was.

Genius business, that. We were desperate for another striker so we got one.

You serious?

Munir has been on the bench for half the games and scored 3 goals this season. How is he playing better for them than Paco was? That's just not true.

You can argue signing Paco was wrong, that his role could have been played by Munir, Sandro or someone else, but come on man. At least don't make a factually wrong statement.

Munir is probably coming back in July. Valencia might actually get relegated or at least finish just above and I doubt they'll spend those 12 millions on Munir. That club and its owner would be under pressure to make bigger signings to rectify the situation.
