Paulinho

They dont have replacements for those players, they have some good back ups but no one anywhere near Ronaldo let alone Modric, Ramos or Marcelo.

Could list plenty of shit signings by Real in the last decade as well.

Yea, this is where the forum is over the top. Many people would have you believe that Asensio and Kovacic are future Ballon d'Or winners. Ask yourself, is Varane now much better than 4 years ago?

Madrid dont sign 28 year olds. They sign them when they are much younger than that. It doesnt mean that their team is 22 years old on average. It just means that the SIGNINGS are that age on average.

They signed Kaka for 70m at 27 and got next to nothing from him and no money back, they signed Xabi Alonso at almost 28 for 35m.

Convenient to ignore these transfers when praising Real to the hilt.

But, the issue with this is that very few 22-23 years old players are such an improvement on the talents that we can bring through La Masia, that it is worth paying 70m. for them. Young Neymar was like that for example.

I tell you right now that I'd rather give more chances to our younger players like Alena, than to splash 80m. for Naby Keita for instance. I mean, first we need to see our talent in action to say that they are not good enough. I liked what I saw from Alena in the little time that he played. Same goes from Marlon. So I expect Valverde to see those good signs and for us to start producing young talent again.

Yea, it's true that we're probably not going to see another Xavi or Iniesta very soon, but another truth is that talent is also carressed and nurtured. You also need to do your best to develop these players. Nobody is born a great player.

Very few of Madrid's signings over the past 7-8 years have been better than our La Masia talents over the past 7-8 years? Notice that almost every signing RM have made in the past 7-8 years have been younger than 25. I can only think of Modric who was 26.

Arsenal is preparing a 45m euro bid for Thomas Lemar according to some reports. These are the player we should be after. The best players in the biggest leagues who have yet to join a rich club and are younger than 25. But are we after Thomas Lemar? Most likely not. Are we after Fabinho? Most likely not. Are we after Paulinho? Yes, we are.

The entire forum is over the top except for you and JamDav.

You guys must be some geniuses.

Just a week ago you were saying these Paulinho rumours were false.

At this point just sign a right back and call it a day. Don't waste money on players who are not a direct upgrade to what we have.

So now even Arsenal has managed to sign better players than we will. Lacazette and Lemar vs Deulofeu and Poulinho. :bartomeu:

Nah you are just full of shit.

Sure. Perhaps you can reply to what people are talking about instead of changing the topic, but then again I'm talking to a guy who was the resident board apologist despite their bad management.

Just as great in changing the topic to something that got nothing to do with the argument, but makes the board and management seem good.

That's a long time ago.

Knew thats what you would say.

Not as long time ago as signings like Ramos and Marcelo you were praising though as if it fits that model of younger players and never players around 28.

Just picking and choosing transfers that suit.

What on earth are you on about?

Told you years ago midfield was going to shit. Yet everyone seemed delighted with Rakitic instead of Kroos and Rafinha was going to be better than Thiago.

Should have listened.

You were the one changing the topic anyway. Genius.

You're trying to act like the situation is all well by suggesting this and suggesting that, knowing full well that Alena will NOT get promoted, and you're the one who keep advocating for the club and how they should not force players out, so what do you suggest really? That we keep our deadweight and fit in Alena in the team how exactly? If you didn't know which I'm sure you do, we cannot keep a squad of over 25 players and Alena cannot play more than a certain amount of games until he's locked to the 1st team and won't be able to play for Barca B.

If we sign Paulinho and keep Arda, Gomes, Denis and Rafinha, there's no way Alena gets a substantial amount of minutes.

You can't escape the issues you created yourself (by giving fat and lenghty contracts to older players) by forcing people to leave with dirty tactics. The point is to be more careful what contracts you give out, and to whom, not to kick players out by force. In other words, we messed up with Arda, we need to deal with it. If he doesn't want to go, he doesn't want to go. He will continue to train for us, and if he shows he is good he will get a chance like every other player. If not, he'll stay on the bench.

Ok but be honest, how can a sane person believe that Barcelona is after a player from Chinese league? No one with common sense wouldn't call this a bullshit at the beggining. Unfortunately we forgot that our club is beeing managed by TOTAL IDOTS.

Varane was signed for 10m euros. Asensio was signed for 5m euros.

We rely on the great La Masia generation of Iniesta, Pique, Messi, Busquets etc. Madrid rely on quality shrewd signings in the market. And yes, they are almost always younger than 25.
