Paulinho

If we were forced to make a choice between Paulinho or Lima, I would rather go with Lima by a long shot. at least he would come on a free transfer, and he's much better with the ball and he's a lot more creative than Paulinho is.

Wouldn't consider either of them though if we had much more options obviously.

No it isnt.

Explain to me who has benefited and how much they got/will get if it is all clear as day.

If I could explain that to you Barto would already be in jail. Easiest way to do this is pay the money to the player and than he gives the cash to someone. Look at Modric case.

So you want to believe Douglas was actually bought because they believed he was good enough for Barca??? Jesus Christ those people in our board are not stupid they are just crooked.

Ok so you cant explain it at all so based on nothing.

Not looking for complete breakdown just who benefited from it financially. Should be be easy if clear as day.

Who cares if he actually did shady stuff or not he is still a horrible president with the worst management skills you can think of. No plan for future, wasting money on silly old players. It sucks to see young players reject us and join already stacked Madrid team. Barto might have been benefited from this financially or not. Does it really matter? He is destroying the clubs image.

Ok let me ask you a question. You honestly believe Robert, Valverde and Barto see Paulinho as a perfect solution for our midfield and they believe that a 29 year old player from China who flooped hardly in Tottenham is worth 40 mil and 5 mil per season?

If this is the case that they are beyond stupid!!! I just can't believe anyone could be that dumb! It's unbelievable to me.

Even if he costed 5 mil it would still be stupidest move of all time since S. Roberto can for sure be a better backup for Busi than this trash player. Even Samper is better solution in my eyes and I don't rate him highly.

We will be first team in the world who will buy a player from China for more money than he was signed. This is ABSURD and TRAGIC!

Yes I think they see Paulinho as a player they want which is worrying enough. Dont know if they think he is worth 40m.

If so, the reason we dont have the money is precisely because of ridiculous transfers like Paulinho. You might laugh at this but he is a luxury signing. 29 year old, high transfer fee, big wages, no sell-on value. Thats the type of transfer clubs with money to pi** away do. Players looking for their last big paycheck.

He'll probably get a fat long term contract like Arda, Vermaelen and other garbage signings so we're stuck with him on the payroll for a long time, further reducing our ability to act in the transfer market in the years ahead.

oh I totally agree, i wasn't defending this transfer its hideous. i was just saying imo our targets show we can't compete for the likes of Verratti etc so were left with Seri (who isn't moving anyway) and Paulinho and some guy from the brazilian league. Paulinho is a 'luxury' signing for his age ofcourse its ridiculous but 40mil is nothing in todays market. United could pay £50mil for Perisic etc. why we don't have a bigger budget for the size of club we are is down to alot of factors.

Did anyone bought player from China before?

From top tier clubs nobody for sure. And nobody for sure bought a player for bigger amount of money than he was signed before. They could actually profit on him.

FC Barcelona is more stupid than Chinese clubs who are paying so much money to players like Paulinho or Tevez. Dear God even Arsenal fans are laughing at us right now.

Maybe we could bid for Oscar also!?!? Let's sign Oscar for 80 mil!!!

If our managers really want to sign these players I find it weird how they suddenly have a boner for useless Brazilian players that didn't exist before, the moment they become Barca managers.

I mean, it's almost as if they're not the ones who want these players at all. I guess poor Valverde could never sign any with Athletic because they only sign Basques. Must have been eating him up inside.

The question is how does Paulinho turn out to be an alternative for Verratti when they're nothing alike in style of play or quality. Not even close.

At least someone like Coutinho or Bernardo Silva would be quality even if they are completely different players.

Paulinho is a different player and an average one at that who's only performed well for Brazil against okay opposition and a Brazilian team in their league, under the same manager.
