pedro is awesome.

he genuinely raises the question of "do we need villa?!" which is such a frankly absurd notion.

he still has loads of room to improve his game, but his goal-getting, especially before christmas when we were properly playing 433, was absolutely superb.

its kinda amazing that with almost all players produced in our youth academy, were the best team in the world, and we keep producing top world class player after player

Villa is sooo Barca, IMHO...But with him turning 29 this year and having missed out on him for a couple of seasons, his window may be closing on a return...Or perhaps, it should be.

Pedro is still a long way to become top world class, don't get ahead of ourselves... He has been very useful this season and has showed that he can improve, but in my opinion, he still has a lot to prove, especially next season... I'm confident that Villa could do better than Pedro, but bringing him would be detrimental to Pedro's (and Bojan's) improvement, having in mind that Pedro has been our first choice to complete the trident for at least two thirds of the season, and that he has been quite good at it, I believe his continuity could also give huge profits for our team...

Absolutely that there's plenty of room to improve but let's not forget this is only his first year with the first team, really...I think it can't be stated enough but the growth and development of the player from last year to this one is pretty remarkable, IMHO...Pedrito! worked his tail off and it shows...A credit to the Barcelona youth setup but also to hard work - Masia upstarts should pay attention to that...Yes, I'm looking at you Gai!

couldn't produce anything..
didnt even have the time to control the ball before being hustled off the ball..
pep should've taken him out earlier for ibra or keita or even henry..

But thats not untypical for him. He is running and pressing a lot, but with the ball on his feet he isnt the strongest. Neither his passing nor his dribbling usually let him produce good opportunities or are a part of a good attacking move. His best asset is his finishing, which is incredible however, but he needs to get feed when being in a good position.

His work rate was tremendous. Another crucial goal, I bet him as first goalscorer as well which is a silver lining.

he does look a bit ineffective at times but overall one of the better performances. souness correctly pointed out that the first goal was his man to take..
