Fucking hell, it's a Maz-Swedish conspiracy! You're all wrong by the way :smile222:

CA is bang on the money here people.

the only real difference is pedro is more two-footed so has that option to come inside more regularly and pass off either foot (as he did for jeffren's goal). giuly was much more effective on his right and so he didn't often cut inside with the ball, more give and go's and late runs.

Exactly. :beer2:

Pedro is very different than Giuly. For starters he has a better technique and a work-rate. Giuly was a speedy Gonzales in his days and had that good stint in Monaco but that`s about it. Highly overrated and most of the time waste of space at our right flank

People keep saying "he's not similar, he's better"....just because he may be better doesn't mean the similarity doesn't exist. Giuly was superb in the 04/05 season and wasn't all that bad the following year when he played a key part in the double.

Well hes not similar in the sense that he has more to his game than Giuly who was really only useful for his diagonal runs into the box. Pretty much useless otherwise.

I walk the line
Giuly is a playmaker that was played out wide on his strong foot so he didnt cut in. Pedro on the other hand is a winger that can cut inside diagonally, or bring the ball across the goal line, or play on the left and cut inside square.

Giuly was best playing just behind the striker, which is probably why he was wasn't as spectacular for us, where he was winger. As CA said, Giuly was quite good 04-05 season, making intelligent runs, spreading out the field....then after that came Messi.
If Pedro is a more skilfull version of Giuly, I'll be happy with that.

Remember Giuly did score the winner in the Champions League semis 05/06 against AC Milan. What an assist from Ronaldinho but it was incredibl stuff.

Only thing that worries is is that Pedro looked sharp in the last pre-season as well. When he was called up to step in during last season it somewhat seemed that it`s not the same Pedro as we watched in those friendly matches.

I was thinking the same, but at the same time last year was his first year and now he's settled into first team action and would probably be a lot less nervous then before.
