Had a great game... But that one play was atrocious, it wouldn't have mattered if he had scored, but he didn't pass and didn't score so he deserves the stick and being subbed... That would have closed the game...

Hopefully that's another lesson learnt...

Indeed, he had a great match, I thought...He blew the breakaway opportunity although, to be fair, it did look like he was clipped...Shame really, I thought he was gonna slot home...You could see he was still thinking about it when he was subbed off (Smart move from Del Bosque, really)...Nothing to hang his head for though, he was truly immense tonight

Its a shame thats the only thing people can see. He played so freakishly good, best player together with Puyol and was the creativity forward making pretty much everything, and still people only see that he didnt make the pass.

He even got clipped on the legg from the defender, otherwise he woulda made it through.

His direct play is something that is sorely missing from Del Bosque's men at the moment...Got too cute with the cut back when he should've passed or gone for goal but was a constant threat throughout

the whole 3rd line was full of movement because of him and villa running riot

Some people thought otherwise, but I think he was very good compared to, say, Villa (or anyone else in the attack, really). Not a very good night for the attacking players (Puyol had to score! ). Ran a lot to keep him self open, change position with others... On a better night for other attackers, it would be an ok performance, but distinguished tonight.
