The club has just issued an official statement defending Pepe and the rest of the team, babbling on about how they value sportsmanship, and how their players have always behaved with the utmost respect of their opponents.

Anybody else half expecting Real Madrid to somehow manage to get the easiest knockout stage matches of the Champions League again? It looks like this year there aren't going to be as many little teams in the round of 16 to destroy. PSG, Porto, Manchester United, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich, Schalke, 2 of Juventus/Chelsea/Shaktar, etc. Even with all that quality, I am expecting Real Madrid to make it to the semis after beating Celtic and Cluj or something. 2 Years ago they faced Lyon and Tottenham to get to the semis. Last year they faced CSKA Moscow and APOEL.

Love the spirit of Barcelona. We might not win every season but we are built on a very stable foundation to stay on the very top. Our coach doesn't cause inner turmoils with his own players and youth coaches. Our star player isn't a prima donna who is more concerned about his individual awards, looks and income. Our attacking midfielder isn't a part time footballer who is enjoying the nightlife too much. Our defenders aren't mentally retarded. The harmony within this team is incredible. Also got to show you how hard it is to stay on the top. Real had 1 winning season and they are imploding already. That's how far a coaching philosophy built on hate and negativity will get you. In the first 2 seasons that "us against the wold" mentality might pay off but after a while it just leaves a huge vacuum by draining the players out mentally.

Very well said. Mourinho is a great manager for the short term but leaves teams a mess after he leaves because he only builds squads for the short term. Inter had a disastrous 2 seasons post Mourinho.
