There's question marks on the likes of Theo and Vallejo.
Theo imo isn't someone who has the patience to wait until Marcelo declines and the skill sets between them are radically different. It would be like us comparing Alves to Alba in terms of talent and skill sets and one is Right footed and the other is left footed.
Vallejo, He's a talented CB and also injury prone if going by this season. He also doesn't seem to have that aura like Varane had at his age.

He doesn't really have the choice in patience. If he can't learn from the bench like most other youngsters do then he won't make it in top level football. Took Nacho years to get where he is. As for Vallejo, he barely puts a foot wrong whenever he gets on the pitch. He played very well against Juventus. And early injuries were Varane's problem too. So long as his head and skill are there, he's got a place here, as 3rd or 4th.

Quite like this kid. Looks genuine, but has the swagger and doesn't hesitate. It's what all successful Brazillians need in Europe and the moment they lose it it's curtains.

He doesn't seem self absorbed and came to the institution that rather quickly verifies egos. Can't remember the last guy we bought that had such a problem, Pedro Leon maybe? Which makes 7 years of clean transactions + first-team promotions. Fairly confident how won't show any of it at least until Ramos is no longer around, he'd snuff it out ASAP.

Well, we have Isco, but he ends up dribbling in circles and not accomplishing much in the end, most of the time....

Isco has only been a direct #10 under Pellegrini and for like 2-3 weeks when he first arrived here. That instinct was rooted out and I doubt it can be awakened. We need him to be a different player anyway, more of a Modrić than a Di Maria. Hence our wingers are always the most likely candidates.

This Lunin kid looks dank. Excellent physique for a 19-year old keeper. Looks like he isn't afraid of rushing out either. Basically what we need as a keeper, but with a few years of experience under his belt. Under 10M euros could be another steal.
Big respect for reading his statement in Spanish too.

I'm still coming to terms with this new Madrid strategy of not signing galacticos.
Is it more of a response to the current market or the evidence that a galactico model only brings commercial success? I think in the past Flo used to see himself as the Walt Disney of football

They dont have that strategy.
Would sign Mbappe, Neymar or even Hazard in an instant if they could.
They have not needed a huge signing until now really.

Perhaps catalysed by recent CL success but mainly the inflation in the market. It used to be a galactico once a year.
They may be thinking about the stadium redevelopment, but they are definitely being frugal and counting pennies. They recognise that they cannot compete with the clubs bank rolled by states (yes, irony not lost on me).
They are electing to not compete with PSG in the market.
