After watching Real Madrid's performance against Roma tonight I must say that at the moment they're miles better than us.

Even at home against them we won 4-1 only thanks to lucky own goals and deflections last year.

TBF this Roma wasn't even half as good as they were in that 3-0 at home and they lost their core.

Still this was a dominant and confident display of superiority. This is still the same Madrid (sans CR) that won a plethora of trophies, but you can already tell they're channeling Lopetegui's intensity and responsibility on the ball. Zidane gave them confidence in their own abilities, Julen is trying to add the control factor. We're not there yet, but they're totally on their way. And the guys like Mariano, who just don't get phased by anything, will add to it. Asensio going full on Joga Bonito on Roma's asses is a good sign too.

Roma was completely unable to cover Bale. RM created lots of good chances, most of which resulted in missed shots. Lots of missed shots.

It remains to be seen if they can consistently play as well in La Liga as they do in the CL. They do continue to play well in CL.

Don't know if it's universal, but Cules seem the most pessimistic.
