We can discuss the prospect of joining Chelsea though. Very unlikely it'll happen but would you hold it against Pep if he took that job (or any other) after he said the reason for leaving Barca was because he was tired and needed some time off?

I can't imagine Pep taking a Chelsea job, United perhaps...But, personally, I wouldn't hold it against him...Especially since I feel confident he will return to the club in some capacity and not when he's 60 or something...Could make Pep a more complete manager to experience another league

I will be mad at him if he would sign with Chelsea after the holiday he's taking (even more if he doesnt take a holiday and signs with them this summer), in all honesty I'll be mad at him if he signs with Chelsea even after 7-8 years.

He said he will take a couple of months off, no way is he taking a job now simply because it would make his reason for leaving invalid in a way. If any of this is true then he could take a new job in January, 7 months should be enough to get rid of the tiredness. It seems Chelsea are serious about this and are ready to offer him the most, but since he is regarded as someone with class most people don't think he will go, since people with class don't have pursuit of profit as the most important thing to them.

I hoped that he would return to Barcelona, but he suggested that he has ambitions as a coach, which probably include experience in other leagues. I think everyone has their preferences where they would like him to coach (besides Barcelona) but that remains wishful thinking until he signs a new deal. But I do think it's a shame that he is linked with Chelsea the most.

I would definitely be mad at him if he takes a new job now. Mostly because he said that he is tired of football, so I cant see a reason why he should change his mind. For me, it will be very disrespectful if he goes to another club right now.

How would you guys feel if he goes to lets say Chelsea and equals his trophy record he set with Barca? As much as I love him, I would be super pissed at him

Chelsea would play beautiful football at that time and past is past. Would love him more. He will shut his critics who said he can only have success at a club like Barca with so many talents . He is Mes que un human. :)

I don't know Ryan. As much as I love pep, I certainly wouldn't want to put his success ahead of Barcelona. If he wins things with other teams some day, I'll be pleased for him. Can't see myself following Chelsea or some other club because of pep though. Or being too happy because he is building someone elses success.
I like seeing our former players do well but I don't really care for Anzhi, City or whatnot. So I guess it would be the same with Pep.
Also, I don't remember Pep saying he would like to prove himself elsewhere, so it's just speculating.

And another question, what if Messi said he would like to experience another team/league? Would it be different because he's only a player? Or more understandable because he's not even Catalan like pep?

Leo has achieved legendary status I dont think anyone would be mad at his departure given the effort he had put in this team. For me it would depend on the matter of his departure, will he do it with honor and respect or will he leave us in the dead of night of the last day of the transfer window *cough* Torres *cough*. After a while I'll follow him and would be happy if he does good or feel sad if he fails, but I would always be nostalgic and question his decision and imagine what would it be if he had stayed.

The worst thing is that probably we wont get to see him after he retires, he isnt going to be a coach IMO. Just imagine his team speech, "Ok #10 go forward dribble past 5 players and make a killer pass through the rest of the team to #9"

That's a good question although I think being a coach vs a player are different things...I don't think any of us truly believed Pep was going to be our Fergie and be the coach indefinitely...I don't believe someone who is so wired in like that as a coach/manager at his boyhood club can carry on like that without needing to unplug...Leo has been at the club for 11 years, Pep has been here in one capacity or another for double that...He was spent at the end and not getting everything out of the team as he had previously - a break makes sense, I feel...Plus, Pep will be back

But more to the point, sure I'd be gutted if Leo left, obviously...However, I often think of Messi as a gift to the game...He doesn't just belong to culés, IMO - he's for everyone to enjoy

On a side note, I am curious about what Pep's plan is, if he already has one mapped out even...Lots of signs point to him venturing out for a different coaching job (Estiarte in tow and living in an English speaking locale like NYC) but what sort of longterm plans does he have in mind with the club?

No, No Bojanito. I didn't mean that if Pep achieves success in Chelsea , I will start following Chelsea too. That was not my point . All I was saying that if Pep wins everything in Chelsea , I will be happy for him . Will never be pissed off or hate him because of his success . I just can not . That man has given us everything and his heart will always talk blaugrana and nothing else. But he is a professional coach . I would still love him , there won't be any change . But ofcourse , if Chelsea and Barca plays against each other , there is no doubt that I would want Barca to beat Guardiola's Chelsea . Club is above everything . Nothing - Guardiola or Messi - noone can change that fact.

Scary prospects right there.

I think he could have continued the success he had at Barcelona for many years, however I don't think it'll be easy for him to reach the same success at another club that easy. The most interesting thing to me is to see if he can reach the same level of amusement with another team.
