From this side of the world, it appears that Europe might continue to break up, into maybe 100 little nations. It's very difficult to see how this could benefit Europeans, small nations have such disadvantages compared to larger nations. The larger nations that do not break up, like Germany and France, will inevitably dominate, you might like that even less.

A nation state for each ethnic group. That's what has been happening in Europe the last hundred years or so. As it stands there are currently relatively few groups that are strong enough to secede from other nations. These are Catalans, Basques, the Scottish, the Welsh and the northern Irish. Then you got the smaller groups that I have a hard time picturing as independent such as the Manx, Faroese, Frisian, Breton, Alsatians, Sami, Silesians and certain Italian sub-groups among others.

100 small nations? Please. Most ethnic groups already got their own countries at the moment.

Don't expect there to be any more countries than the first I mentioned. Well, maybe Belgium will split.

Dominate what? If anything, the quality of life is better in smaller countries. Large countries with a large population are a mess to manage and the citizens end up feeling like they don't have any influence on the government.

Most people don't care if their country is a superpower or not. They just want to live a peaceful life.

This. Small countries are much more efficient than bigger ones.
